BRIEFING ROOM AND DEDICATION PLAQUE

The Briefing Room consists of a small alcove or ante-room located at the rear of the Bridge, reached by steps from there. The Briefing Room is an area which is usually kept darkened. A circular columned control station is situated there, allowing a number of personnel to operate at the work station at the same time.

In keeping with Starfleet tradition, the Relativity's dedication plaque is situated on the wall within this area. The screenshot demonstrates the size of the dedication plaque using people (Ducane and Seven) as scale objects.

The plaque also mentions "...to bear the name....of.....Copernicus" (I cannot read the words). Nicolaus Copernicus (1473-1543) was a Polish astronomer who produced a workable model of the solar system with the sun in the centre, and a conspicuous crater on Earth's moon has been named after him.

HOLOMATRIX

The 29th century term for the 24th century holodeck is "holomatrix". Captain Braxton prepares a holographic simulation of junction 49 in Voyager's Jefferies tube network on Deck 4. He brings Seven here to brief and equip her for the mission to apprehend the temporal saboteur. On an earlier mission attempt, Seven discovers that the temporal disruptor was and will be concealed here. Braxton issues her with the following equipment:

• a device to detect any chronoton flux other than her own, so that she can detect the saboteur ideally before he plants the weapon
• a 29th century Starfleet standard phaser, and he authorises her "use whatever force may be necessary".
• a hidden 29th century communicator to provide audio-only contact with the Relativity during the mission
