COMBAT UNIFORM (A drawing is shown on the previous page; see it again.) Both male and female crewmembers of all departments could wear a blue-grey jacket for landing party missions. In 2151 thick jackets could be worn by landing party members and the principle is continued with the rig available in 2254. The jackets in 2254 are fastened at the side and (on the same principle as the 2151 jackets) are made of a thicker material than the shirts, thus offering more protection against the various conditions such as bad weather. The jacket is worn over the standard tunic. Female personnel wear their shirt collars over the jackets. The screenshot above shows Navigator José Tyler of the USS Enterprise NCC-1701 under the command of Captain Christopher Pike.

Apart from the jacket, landing party equipment (not always carried by every member) comprises a backpack worn over the jacket with an adjustable strap onto which items such as a laser pistol and communicator could be clipped. Other equipment might include a rectangular box for storing and returning samples from alien terrains for analysis aboard the starship, and protective goggles might be worn such as when operating the starship's powerful laser cannon. A vital piece of equipment was the communicator, a handheld device activated by flipping up its lid, for keeping in contact with the starship and other landing party members.
MEDICAL OFFICER UNIFORM Doctors wear blue, all-in-one jumpsuits. Unlike other Starfleet uniforms, the trousers cover the boots. These coveralls are worn with a blue belt and undershirt. By 2266, medical patients are required to wear a blue jumpsuit similar to this design though by Voyager's era a looser blue gown is worn (assuming a medical gown is worn at all; there are several times when it seems gowns should be worn but are not e.g. [#157 Shattered]). The jumpsuit's left breast features the United Earth insignia with the name of the ship beneath it (shown left). The screenshots show Dr Phillip Boyce of the USS Enterprise NCC-1701 under the command of Captain Christopher Pike.

TRANSPORT TECHNICIAN UNIFORM Similar in design to the medical officer's uniform, the transport room technician's duty uniform comprises a beige coverall with a matching undershirt. By 2266 engineering personnel will wear a red coverall with a black shirt. The screenshots show Transporter Chief Pitcairn of the USS Enterprise NCC-1701 under the command of Captain Christopher Pike.
