| UFP | = | United Federation of Planets This abbreviation is also used by characters in the Star Trek universe. |
| SFTM | = | Book 'Starfleet Technical Manual' by Franz Joseph, authorised by Paramount Pictures Corporation. I recommend this book. It was first published in 1991, hence information about Starfleet's organisational structure may not be up-to-date and so I have taken care to present information from it which is up-to-date or with my comments giving updates, but in certain cases such as the Starfleet organisational charts I have refrained from "tampering". I do not possess a younger edition of the book, if one exists. |
