Ferenginar is the homeworld of the Ferengi. The Ferengi named Quark is the proprietor of Quark's Bar, Grill, Gaming House and Holosuite Arcade, located on Deep Space 9. In [#1 and #2 Caretaker], Tom Paris rescues Harry Kim from being financially exploited by Quark.
Ferenginar itself is mentioned in [Voyager] only in [#47 False Profits]. Two Ferengi, named Kol and Arridor, are discovered by the Voyager crew on a planet in the Delta Quadrant. As to be expected of Ferengi, they are exploiting the population of a world not yet capable of warp drive. Neelix, disguised as the Grand Proxy, representative of the Grand Nagus, confronts Arridor and Kol. Neelix's disguise is the main part of a plan to get the Ferengi to return "voluntarily" with Voyager to the Alpha Quadrant.
![]() | Arridor (on the left in the lefthand picture) grovels as he wheedles: "Perhaps the Grand Nagus doesn't understand that profits in this market depend upon our presence. You see, to these people we're, well, gods actually. Without us to make the fools cower in submission, there will be no profits to be had." | ![]() |
![]() | Neelix: "The Grand Nagus knows all about your little scheme, the Song of the Sages and all the rest of it - very clever. But he wants you and all your acquisitions back on Ferenginar before the wormhole closes again." |
One of the multiple personalities which surfaces in Seven in [#101 Infinite Regress] is a Ferengi. A holographic Ferengi character is part of a diplomatic scenario holoprogram in [#165 Q2]. Three Ferengi, named Nunk, Gegis and Yeggie, hatch a murderous scheme against the Voyager in [#152 Inside Man].

Delphi Ardu is a planetary system in which was located the last outpost of the now-defunct Tkon Empire. The Federation Starship USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D and a Ferengi Marauder spacecraft were detained there by the Tkon outpost in 2364 when the Federation made first contact with both the Ferengi and the surviving Tkon outpost. [TNG: The Last Outpost] In fact, actual first contact took place earlier, in late 2151, when a group of Ferengi boarded the NX-01 Enterprise, in [Enterprise: Acquisition], but the Enterprise crew did not learn the name of the attackers' species. Behind-the-scenes: In [Enterprise: Acquisition], Ethan Phillips, who plays Neelix, and in [#47 False Profits] plays Neelix disguised as a Ferengi, plays one of the attacking Ferengi. Ethan Phillips had also played a Ferengi in [TNG: Menage à Troi].
