BREEN

map or diagram extract

Breen hologram, episode [Flesh And Blood]Breen is the home planet of the humanoid civilisation known as the Breen, [TNG: Hero Worship]. Owing to the extremely cold climate of their homeworld, Breen do not have blood, [DS9: In Purgatory's Shadow]. Their planet is a frozen wasteland, [DS9: Crossfire]. The Breen utilise cloaking technology and their ships are armed with disruptor-type weapons; in [Star Trek VII: Generations] this is noted as type-3 disruptor weapons. In 2370, a Breen pilot participates in the palio on Deep Space 3 [TNG: Interface]. The Breen are not empathically detectable by Betazoids, [TNG: The Loss]. Among the Breen, pregnancy at a young age was a common occurrence, noted by the Doctor in [#18 Elogium]. In 2366, two Breen warships attacked the Cardassian ship Ravinok. The Breen ships chased the Ravinok to planet Dozaria and forced it to crash. The Breen used the survivors from the Ravinok to mine dilithium on Dozaria. To protect themselves from the heat of Dozaria, the Breen guards wore completely sealed, refrigerated suits, [DS9: Indiscretion]. Breen privateers attacked the Bajoran colony of Free Haven in early 2372, [DS9: To the Death]. The Romulans have a saying: "Never turn your back on a Breen." [DS9: By Inferno's Light]. One of the holograms programmed by the Hirogen as sentient prey is a Breen (pictured). Like other Hirogen holographic prey, he was programmed using holodeck technology presented to them by Janeway in 2374 in [#86 and #87 The Killing Game]. Other holographic 'prey' include a Bajoran, the holograms' leader named Iden, and a Cardassian whom Iden named Kejal meaning "freedom". The interaction of these holograms and the Voyager crew is depicted in [#155 and #156 Flesh And Blood].
