MILO : Page 2
Under Seamus' leadership, the townsfolk charge into Sullivan's pub and throw red twine nets (red twine to prevent spirits changing shape) over Kim and Paris, but they manage to disentangle themselves and escape after Seamus tells Milo to shoot at the strange-looking panel on the wall which speaks with a voice from the Other World (it is the LCARS computer panel, and the voice is that of the ship's computer), as that damages the holodeck systems. In total, Milo fires twice at it. Paris' order to the computer to freeze the program results in only 62% compliance, leaving free enough townsfolk to chase Kim and Paris. Due to the holodeck malfunction, the exit doors do not materialise properly and then vanish, denying Paris and Kim that way of escape, and the mob soon catches up with them.

Milo shoots at the bodyless spirit whose voices issues forth mysteriously from the wall (it is the LCARS computer)
 | Milo, the Doctor and Seamus, as Milo tells the Doctor: "It seems Grace Declan saw you disappear into thin air on Sunday." Seamus adds: "I'd say the town's a wee bit unholy! You're in league with them, aren't you?" To the townsfolk: "Tie him up with the others!" |
Milo draws Seamus' attention to the Doctor's mobile emitter which he says is a talisman. When Seamus tells him to take it off quickly, Milo does so. This causes the Doctor's program to fritz, and that convinces the townsfolk even more that the Doctor is another malevolent spirit like Paris and Kim.
 | Seamus finds the transport enhancers. "And what were you planning on doing with these?"
Kim: "Those are the devices that will allow us to leave. Just put them on our coats and we'll be on our way."
Milo: "You'd like us to believe that, wouldn't you."
Seamus: "Something tells me these are spirit charms. We pin them on you and God knows what powers you'll have." |
 | Sullivan takes the mobile emitter from Milo and looks at it more closely. "This is no charm. It's some kind of machine."
Milo: "What does it matter? They won't be telling us the truth about any of it."
Seamus, consulting Biddy Ramsay's book: "Oh they'll tell us the truth alright. There's more than way to cut the wings off a pixie. We'll induce a trance." He asks Milo for and is handed Biddy Ramsay's silver spoon. |
 | He starts to swing the silver spoon in front of the Doctor, telling him: "Keep your eyes on the silverware, Father."
As Seamus swings the watch, the Doctor tells him, fed up: "I hope you know this is blasphemous. Oh this is ridiculous. I can't be hypnotised." He sighs. But on Voyager's bridge, Chakotay is unable to isolate the Doctor's program, and Janeway realises that he has been integrated into the Fair Haven matrix and is thus vulnerable. |
 | The Doctor has fallen into a trance!
Seamus to the Doctor: "Tell us the words. How do we banish the spirit folk to the other world?"
The Doctor speaks in a trance: "There is no other world, only Voyager." |
 | Milo: "Voyager?"
Doctor: "Federation starship, Intrepid class, registry number NCC-74656."
Sullivan: "You're from some sort of vessel?"
The Doctor acknowledges: "Mm-hm."
Seamus: "He's talking gibberish." |
 | Sullivan: "Maybe he's not." To Paris: "This ship of yours, is that where you took me?"
Seamus is consulting the 'Faerie Magyk' book. "Look here: it says if you can get a spirit to reveal his true name you'll render yourself impervious to his charms." None of the Fair Haven folk of course realise that the Doctor has no name.
Milo nods. He turns to the Doctor and demands: "What is your true name?"
Doctor: "I haven't decided on one yet."
Seamus realises that the book is useless and slams it shut.
When Paris refuses to confirm whether Katie O'Clare is on Voyager, Sullivan asks the Doctor. |
 | Milo: "What are you doing, Sullivan?
Seamus: "No man who's ever gone to the other world has ever come back!" |
 | Sullivan: "I have." He addresses the Doctor: "How do I get there?"
The Doctor looks up at him, then down at his closed hand. Sullivan opens his hand and looks at the mobile emitter.

When Sullivan returns to Fair Haven, bringing Katie O'Clare (Janeway) with him, Milo aims a rifle at them: "That might not be Michael Sullivan. A demon could have taken his shape." But Janeway and Sullivan persuade Milo, along with the other townsfolk, that she and the other Voyager folk are not spirit folk and do not use magic. Sullivan addresses the townsfolk: "They have machines that I can't begin to describe, but not once have they used them against us. Quite the opposite, in fact. Milo, you said you didn't like the rain and young Harry Kim made it go away. Edith Mulchaey herself said that Katie pulled her daughter from the well and out of harm's way. These are not the deeds of spirits and mischief-makers." Milo joins in with everyone else in renewing friendships with the Voyager crewmembers.
Milo brandishes his rifle as Sullivan and Katie O'Clare (Janeway) enter the church
Sullivan and Katie both address the villagers |
Sullivan: "Milo, you said you didn't like the rain and young Harry Kim made it go away." |
Seamus and the townsfolk agree with Janeway's/Sullivan's words: "Just because we're from different worlds, doesn't mean we can't care from each other." |
Milo looks on kindly at Katie and Sullivan as Milo joins in with everyone else in deciding to renew friendships with the Voyager crew |
 | Later, Milo catches up with Paris and Kim as they are walking towards the pub. He tells Paris: "You may be from the Moon, Tommy boy, but I've got 3 shillings that says I can still," doing an exuberant little skip, "whip you at rings." Paris accepts the bet and he joins them in Sullivan's pub. |
