In [#165 Q2], Q2, an adolescent Q steals the Delta Flyer to take himself and Icheb for a jaunt.

Q leaves his rebellious adolescent son Q2 on Voyager in the hope that Aunt Kathy (Janeway) can instill in him the virtues needed in a Q. After various rebellious incidents, Janeway is impressed by Q2's apparently genuine attempt to improve himself, and she allows him to go with Icheb on his piloting lesson with Paris. After helping Icheb navigate the Delta Flyer through an asteroid field, Paris lets Q2 take a "turn at the wheel".

Q2 and Icheb become friends, but later Icheb is horrified when Q2 commandeers the Delta Flyer and takes the pair of them through a spatial flexure on a jaunt.

They encounter a Chokuzan ship which opens fire on the Delta Flyer, critically injuring Icheb. Q2, out of friendship for Icheb, takes the Delta Flyer back to Voyager for treatment. When he learns that Icheb will die and the only possible hope is to ask the Chokuzans for help, Q2 agrees to go with Janeway back through the spatial flexure in the Delta Flyer. Q2 confronts the Chokuzan commander and accepts the blame, but it turns out the Chokuzan is actually Q, Q2's father, who is in the disguise in order to test his character. Q saves Icheb.
