| The Delta Flyer features a single bio-bed that recedes into the bulkhead when not in use.
The bio-bed provides rudimentary treatment until a patient can be delivered to USS Voyager's sickbay. A sterilised area can be kept around the patient by erecting a forcefield. It can also be used as a stasis unit in which more seriously injured patients can be placed until a more advanced medical facility can be reached. It can also if necessary be used as a mortuary slab. In an alternate timeline the biobed was used to store Seven of Nine's dead body, then the Doctor partly dissected Seven of Nine on it in order to extract from inside her head her Borg interplexing beacon and her chronometric node [#100 Timeless]. The bio-bed was also used to smuggle Tom Paris aboard, with the Doctor's mobile emitter in his hand, in [#141 Live Fast and Prosper]. |
