The EMH backup module is found as an artifact buried nine metres beneath the ruins of Kesef, 700 years into the future. Although previous episodes suggest that the Doctor's program cannot be backed up, it is assumed that method was devised but not shown.

In the Doctor's simulation, in which he shows that the Kyrian leader boarded Voyager with a group of fighters. The Doctor says that the last thing he remembers is that Kyrian ships attacked Voyager. What damage was caused to Voyager, if any, is not known.
