To get past the alien sensor net, the crew adjust Voyager's shields to refract the interlaced tachyon beams. They try to stay at warp 9.75 for as long as they can, but a resonant particle wave dampens the warp field and slows the ship. Torres tries re-aligning the dilithium matrix to compensate. Although she would prefer to shut down the warp core, she has to do it while the ship is at warp.

The Jupiter Station diagnostic program Alpha-1-1 contains a sophisticated diagnostic matrix specifically created for the emergency medical system. The diagnostic program's adaptive heuristic matrix is the same as the Doctor's, enabling it to be grafted one onto the other. This means that there is no longer a diagnostic program for Voyager's EMH.

The hologram of Dr Zimmerman suggests that Torres should schedule the Doctor to have his memory circuits expanded during the ship's next maintenance layover at McKinley Station, indicating at least one of the Alpha Quadrant stations likely to service Voyager.
