Molecular imaging scanners record each subject's pattern on the quantum level, and primary energising coils create the annular confinement beam (ACB).

The transporter platform is slightly elevated above the floor of the transport room to counteract any static discharge. Access to the inner components of the dais and areas is via removeable panels in the dais.

The pattern buffer is a 'tank' where each pattern is held briefly in mid-transport.
The biofilter is a device which is attached to the side of the pattern buffer 'tank'. The biofilter screens out harmful foreign microbes from objects and persons being beamed aboard. The biofilter then needs to be purged.
