A The main control console contains all information pertinent to the transport in progress. The annular confinement beam can also be altered from this location.

B An equipment locker provides storage for items needed by away teams and transporter personnel.

C There are only six pads on the transporter platform, but in emergency it is capable of transporting many more people that this - it is possible to evacuate several hundred people within seconds by expanding the buffers e.g. 204 Klingons in [#160 Prophecy].

The basic design of the transporter room has not changed significantly between starship designs. It still features a control area divided from the transportation pads. However, the technology has developed, allowing larger objects to be transported further and faster than ever before.
