Barclay has become a self-confident person with good people skills. In [Pathfinder] Voyager's crew make Barclay an honorary member of the crew. As their friend, in the 2404 depicted in [#171 and #172 Endgame], he takes it upon himself to propose the toast at the annual reunion.

In the new timeline, in 2377, Barclay, Admiral Owen Paris and everyone at Pathfinder, are the first to contact the returned ship - using short-range communications! Barclay sees the successful fruition of his hard work at Project Pathfinder.
The future as seen in Part One of [#171 and #172 Endgame] therefore disappears, but it is likely that certain aspects of it will occur, such as Barclay's promotion within Starfleet and his continuing friendship with the Doctor and other members of Voyager's crew. |
