INTRODUCTION TO THE KAZON COLLECTIVE
The Kazon Collective is a spacefaring humanoid civilisation native to the Delta Quadrant, but it says something about them that the Borg (who designated them Species 329) considered them unworthy of assimilation. The "Kazon Collective" is the formal name for the group of numerous Kazon sects [#1 and #2 Caretaker].

KAZON HISTORY
Long ago, the Kazon were among the most culturally and technologically advanced people in the Delta Quadrant. This ended when the Kazon were conquered by the Trabe, who encouraged the various Kazon sects to fight among themselves in order to make them easier to control, although many members of the Trabe race were apparently unaware that this oppression was taking place [#30 Alliances]. In 2346 Jal Sankur united the Kazon people who rose up and overthrew the Trabe. The Kazon sects stole many of the Trabe's spacecraft, returning the Kazon to the status of a spacefaring society. [#27 Maneuvers].
Thereafter the Kazon persecuted the Trabe, hounding them from place to place and preventing their former oppressors from settling a new homeworld. Their hatred for the Trabe "uniforms" spilled over into a hatred for Voyager's crew, who wore uniforms as members of Starfleet and representing the United Federation of Planets.
Jal Razik, First Maje of the Kazon-Ogla, told Chakotay in 2372, [#21 Initiations]: "You may not think you're at war with us, Federation Commander Chakotay, but everything you are is a threat to us. The Kazon fought long and hard for their independence from uniforms like yours. Your uniforms, your laws, your technology, you are not welcome here."
In 2372, the Trabe, under leader Mabus, formed an alliance with USS Voyager, depicted in [#30 Alliances]. Mabus called a peace conference between the Kazon and the Trabe, but it was nothing more than Mabus' ploy to assassinate the Kazon first majes who attended. Voyager's crew foiled the plot, Janeway angrily ended the alliance with the Trabe, and the Kazon continued its long-term pursuit of revenge against the Trabe.
