HIROGEN : Iden's stolen Hirogen ship : page 2 : layout and location diagrams, screenshots and text about the bridge
Layout diagram of the command centre (the bridge) of Iden's stolen Hirogen ship:
| The ship is equipped throughout with a series of holo-emitters, and is a heavily armed and armoured ship, the armour being monotanium as the ship was a Hirogen vessel before being commandeered by Iden and his crew. Like other Hirogen starships this vessel has a dicyclic warp signature and its power systems are tylium-based. In addition, the interior design is of course Hirogen ships but has been adapted by Iden's hologram crew.
The vessel is controlled from a spacious command centre, called by Iden and his crew 'the bridge', allowing a large crew to operate the various controls vital for the efficient running of the ship as well as monitoring space for evidence of other photonic beings that they can liberate. The control area can be reached via a number of connecting corridors lnking it to other parts of the ship with two sets of main entrance doors located at the opposite end of the main viewscreen wall, and to the righthand side of the room when viewed from the primary viewing system. A set of large heavy-duty interlocking doors slide open to reveal the interior of the bridge from the elevated exterior corridor with a wide platform allowing several crewmember to enter quickly the command area and take their duty station during an alert status. The construction of the bulkhead walls defining the interior of the command area features a number of designs, ranging from interlocking rectangular blocks, to smooth panels and a metallic mesh on which various weapons are displayed - these weapons are leftover from Hirogen occupation of the ship. The material used in this is constructed from a uniform grey blue alloy which gives a cold and sterile feel to the area. Primary lighting for the command area is provided by a series of bright white light set into the ceiling above a number of grilles, casting a harsh patterned light downward onto the centre of the room. Secondary lighting is generated from several narrow vertical lamps positioned around the room at various locations, with the second entrance way opposite the viewing creen featuring a number of ights very close to the smaller exit to Iden's private office and chapel. A series of angled support pillars round the central area of the bridge also house smaller lamps, and along with the illumination from the various computerised displays, result in a muted lighting level. The decking of the control room consists of interlocking smooth and angled metallic plates. The bridge has a number of raised platforms around the periphery of the roughly rectangular area, producing two levels on which the crew can work. Located at the left side of the room viewed from the raised entrance is the main viewscreen, which is a semi-circular display that provides computer-generated tactical information for the crew operating the primary control console in the centre of the room. At other times the main viewscreen can provide a view of space. Situated below the platform facing the viewscreen is a spherical console, or primary control globe, which features the push-pull control rod interfaces common to Hirogen ship design. These controls are situated in such a position that their operator has an unimpeded and close-up view of the viewscreen above. Iden also uses the main viewscreen for audio-visual communication with other ships. Located to the left of the main viewscreen is a further raised platform on which stands a holographic emitter tower that is vital for the continued projection of the photonic beings within the room. This platform is also used as a transporter pad. The Doctor and Torres are both forcibly transported to this spot from USS Voyager. It is possible to align the matrix of any new holographic arrival and install their program into the ship's database as soon as they arrive on board, although this can also be carried out within the laboratory that also doubles as a treatment room aboard the ship. A number of control stations are positioed on the long wall facing the main entrance doors, and include other spherical free-standing consoles as well as wall-mounted interfaces which have a series of touch-sensitive controls. Several crewmembers stand around the outer areas of the bridge seemingly unoccupied, although alert conditions will see them quckly take up one of several stations round the inner walls of the command area. The majority of the ship's controls are built into a large single console located in the middle of the room. This substantial circular station can accommodate eight crewmembers at the same time. The workstation is built around a metallic dome-shaped centrepiece featuring illuminated drilled holes, and consists of a number of identically sized touch-sensitive panels that can be configured to manipulate and monitor numerous functions. |

Among its many features, this central command console controls the ship's offensive and defensive capabilities, including the loading and launch of photon torpedoes and firing of phasers. During Voyager's attempts to shut down the ship's holographic projectors by a pulse generated from Voyage's mdeflector dish, this console is used to produce and emit an inverse frequency to generate a deedback surge, and thereby take out Voyager's systems, leving Voyager adrift in space. The console can also be used to scan approahing vessels forlifesigns, although an automati a detection system is constantly scanning space for photonic signatures. The ship's computer alerts the crew by an audible warning tone, thus allowing themto locate and transfer a porgram onto the vessel. This system also alerts the crew to detection by other Hirogen vessels, relaying detailed information on approaching ships. |

| Iden also has a small area on the bridge where he can light candles and pray. He does this while he and his crew wait for the Doctor and Torres to talk, hoping that the Doctor can persuade her to offer her expertise in holographic technology in order to help Kejal complete the development of the network of photonic field generators. The generators will be needed on Ha'Dara to maintain all their holographic matrices. | ![]() |
