The Borg Queen's lair is reached via a series of corridors within the vessel.
The chamber is protected by a forcefield with a modulation of 324.95 [Dark Frontier]. Drones work at their stations which are built into the chamber's bulkheads, and can leave these at an instance at the Queen's command, for example to protect her in the event of an intruder penetrating the chamber's security (such as Janeway). The Queen's central alcove functions as her main communication link with the Collective: she communicates with the Collective via her thoughts, just as the whole Collective can hear all the voices of all the active drones at once - "the others" as Seven put it in [The Gift]. She has mobility, however, which is achieved by joining together various body parts (for example, the head with spinal column and upper body is separate from the torso). The head is kept in the top of the central alcove and when body mobility is needed it descends from there to be joined with other body parts. Flash movie and more info on previous page. |

The Queen's vessel is large enough to contain assimilation facilities for a large number of victims.
