ALSURANS / ALSURAN EMPIRE

The species name is probably Alsurans (formed from the appositional adjective). They were a species native to the Delta Quadrant with a vast, advanced civilisation, which they named the Alsuran Empire. In an alternative but eventually unrealised timeline experienced by the Voyager crew in 2374, depicted in [#76 and #77 Year Of Hell], the Alsuran Empire was wiped out by the Krenim temporal weapons ship commanded by Krenim scientist and military officer Annorax. During that alternative timeline Annorax serves an Alsuran Empire dish to Tom Paris and Chakotay, saying it is all that exists of that culture. However, it is not known whether the Alsuran Empire still exists (or never existed at all) in the revised timeline in which Annorax did not encounter Voyager.

In 2373, in [#63 Before And After], Kes experienced a different alternative timeline to the alternative one experienced by the Voyager crew in 2374; it is not known whether or not the Alsuran Empire existed in that timeline.
