Bahrat, Station Manager, would not furnish me with stills taken from his surveillance monitors,
so instead I provide screenshots from [#55 Fair Trade].

WIXIBAN

Also known as Wix. A member of the Talaxian race, Wix is a long-time friend to Neelix.

Wix spent one year in a Ubean prison for smuggling contraband. Neelix was also involved in this act, but escaped capture. While a prisoner in the Ubean prison, Wix was forced to eat worms to stay alive. He slept in a cell where vermin chewed on him all night, and he was punished terribly. Wix was forced to live aboard the Nekrit Expanse Supply Depot for three years after his ship was confiscated by the Station Manager, Bahrat. Wix conspired to smuggle illicit drugs (described as "medical supplies" to Neelix) aboard the station for delivery to Sutok whose payment Wix would then deliver to the Kolaati. The plan was that upon paying the Kolaati Wix and Neelix would receive an astrometric chart of the Nekrit Expanse. During a failed attempt to deliver the drugs, Wix killed the alien Sutok using a Federation phaser. It is not known whether an astrometric chart of the Nekrit Expanse truly existed (personally I doubt it).

Wix puts a Federation phaser in his pocket, obtained from the Voyager shuttlecraft.

Sutok fires at Wix but the shot goes wide. Wix fires back, killing Sutok.

Wix helps up Neelix who was knocked to the floor by Sutok's henchmen.

Wix and Neelix escape the area by beaming back aboard the Voyager shuttlecraft.

Wix lies to Tuvok, claiming he was in bed at the time of the shooting.
Wix agreed to Neelix's plan and confessed his crime to Bahrat. Neelix and Wix set a trap to capture Tosin and his henchmen by handing over warp plasma that Tosin had demanded in exchange for the payment he never received as a result of the failed deal with Sutok. One of the Kolaati henchmen was killed after Bahrat moved in to arrest them because he foolishly fired a weapon in an atmosphere containing warp plasma particles that Neelix had allowed to leak from the canister. Bahrat returned Wix's shuttlecraft, and he was allowed to go on his way, probably back to a Talaxian colony as earlier he had stated his desire to do this.

The Talaxian Wixiban, who lived on the station for three years, stated that he has not seen another Talaxian in that time. Talax is of course a long way away. USS Voyager visited the Depot in 2373. Earlier in the year Talaxians from the Talaxian colony on Prema II, led by Paxim, assisted Paris in liberating USS Voyager from a Kazon Nistrim occupying force commanded by Maje Culluh [#42 and #43 Basics]. It is possible that the Talaxian colonists encountered by USS Voyager in late 2377 living inside an asteroid [#169 Homestead] had visited the Depot before Wixiban's arrival there for, as regards chronology, they lived for a time on the planet Phanos (location unknown) and established the asteroid colony in 2372 so they must have been travelling from Talax (or the region of Talax) for a considerable time before that.

SUTOK

Sutok, species unknown, was a trader who frequented the Nekrit Supply Depot and dealt in such contraband as Rhuludian crystals, a substance banned by authorities near the Nekrit Expanse. Sutok tried to sell some crystals to Chakotay and Paris, claiming that ingesting one Rhuludian crystal was reputed to make days of tedious travel seem like moments of exquisite rapture.

Sutok was killed with a Federation phaser by Talaxian trader Wixiban during a failed narcotics deal.

Sutok takes one of the capsules and injects it into himself. As he takes his fix, drug glows blue, lighting up Sutok's face on which is an expression of artifically-induced contentment.

Wix and Neelix escape the area by beaming back aboard the Voyager shuttlecraft.

Bahrat's surveillance equipment has recorded Sutok's encounter with Chakotay and Paris hours before Sutok was killed.

Because Sutok's encounter with Chakotay and Paris was caught by Bahrat's surveillance recording equipment, Bahrat arrested them for illicit drug trafficking and murder. They were cleared when Wix and Neelix confessed to Bahrat, and outlined a plan they had formulated to capture Kolaati traders who regularly fooled Bahrat's security system in order to carry out highly illegal drug trafficking. The plan was successful and Bahrat did not press charges against either Wix or Neelix, and of course Chakotay and Paris were released.

TOSIN AND THE KOLAATI TRADERS

Tosin was a powerful member of the Kolaati. In exchange for their lives after a failed attempt to deliver narcotics to Sutok and bring him Sutok's payment, Tosin demanded that Wix and Neelix bring him three grammes of USS Voyager's warp plasma. The reason given to Neelix, whom Wix ordered to steal the plasma, was that it would help increase the efficiency of the Kolaati's engines.

Wix and Neelix confessed everything to Bahrat, including Wix's murder of Sutok which he asserted was done in self-defence, and Bahrat agreed to let them try to trap Tosin. Accordingly, Neelix and Wix took along a canister of warp plasma (provided by Bahrat as Neelix refused to steal from USS Voyager), but Neelix disengaged the canister's safety nodes so that during the interview with Tosin warp plasma leaked into the atmosphere. This gave Neelix leverage in his confrontation with Tosin, preventing him from killing them because firing a weapon or activating a transporter beam would ignite the plasma and kill them all.

the foolish henchman (R.I.P.)
But after Bahrat and his guards arrived to arrest Tosin and his henchmen, this proved too much for one of the henchmen who fired his weapon anyway, setting of a massive explosion of the warp plasma. Tosin and his surviving henchmen were taken into custody by Bahrat for contravening station code subsection 4279 beta 325.
the warp plasma ignites and a massive explosion rips through that part of the station

MAP DEALER

The Nekrit Expanse is a vast region of space, thousands of light-years wide, but it is uncharted as the region is too unstable to chart. The Nekrit Expanse contains an unknown form of interstellar dust clouds and plasma storms. However, a map dealer based at the Depot has co-ordinate charts for the local mining colonies for sale to the mining and trading ships that visit the Depot. The name and species of the map dealer, pictured right, are unknown.

Ssh! Too late now to tell Neelix, who was looking for one, but here is a star chart of the Nekrit Expanse. Image size 119Kb.
