Kim has dabbled in tennis, and parisses squares, but his favourite is volleyball [#93 One].

[#23 Parturition] In his youth he played the clarinet in the Juliard Youth Symphony [#1 and #2 Caretaker]. After ending up in the Delta Quadrant, Kim spent a week eating Neelix's food in order to save enough replicator rations to replicate a clarinet [#23 Parturition].

He composed a clarinet concerto called "Echoes of the Void" [#95 Night], part of which he played on Voyager's bridge. (His duplicate, created while on the Demon planet, played the clarinet at the wedding of the duplicate Tom Paris and duplicate B'Elanna Torres [#112 Course: Oblivion].)

Kim and a group of other officers formed a jazz instrumental group called 'Harry Kim and the Kim Tones' [#133 Virtuoso], but instrumental-only did not appeal to representatives of the Qomar species in the audience, and the Doctor had to join them and add vocals to their rendition of "That Old Black Magic" to satisfy the guests.

In Neelix's Paxau Resort holoprogram, Kim created a holoprogram featuring a ladies volleyball team, in [#52 Warlord] and mentioned in [#56 Alter Ego]. However, due to the voluptuousness of the ladies we imply that he played little volleyball, even though it is a favourite sport of his, [#93 One].

He plays hockey with Paris against holographic Nausicaans on the holodeck, and afterwards they go to Sickbay to have their cuts and bruises attended to, [#151 Critical Care].

Kim can also ice-skate, [#138 Ashes To Ashes], something he took up because Lindsey Ballard, with whom he fell secretly in love, ice-skates and he kept her skates even after her death.
