On 17th February a production office assistant bicycles around the Paramount lot delivering the first drafts of the script which is a 68-page teleplay officially titled [Hope and Fear]. The draft also includes the alien ship's name: Dauntless. Rick Berman told Brannon Braga the name over a year earlier and the latter kept it at the back of his mind meanwhile.

Now the script has arrived, department heads compare their advance work with this draft and see how close to the mark they have come. In the case of Act Five they are very close. The beats of Act Five correspond directly to scenes in the script, with only a few being displaced for dramatic purposes.

Extract from the final beat sheet. It correctly predicts the corresponding scenes in Act Five.
