1. FLOTTER - THE MAIN CHARACTER
In 'The Adventures Of Flotter', the character who gives his name to the title of the group of holographic stories is Flotter. The eponymous character's full name is Flotter T. Water III. He lives in a pond in a glade in the enchanted Forest of Forever.

| Flotter, can be called forth from his pond where he lives by the player. Naomi Wildman does so by throwing a stone into the pond. He responds with a grouchy "Ouch!" and tries to get her to come back later but she goads him into appearing by claiming he is afraid of the Tree Monster. He is a water sprite, and he appears within a fountain of water that starts from the pond as rippling bubbles and becomes a water spout. It would seem he is purely water: he can direct small spurts of water from the end of his fingers, and when he is 'destroyed' by the Ogre of Fire he actually evaporates so that Naomi is later able to reliquify him from gaseous form, and Trevis complains of Flotter's "moist palms". |

Flotter can walk on water. He seems to spend some time sleeping, telling Naomi that he needs his "beauty sleep".

Although Naomi describes Flotter as "grouchy", telling her mother that Flotter is "grouchy as ever", she likes him very much and does research on evaporation and gases in order to find the solution that will reliquify Flotter after the Ogre of Fire causes him to evaporate. Flotter is a good-natured fellow, enthusiastic, a bit petulant, friendly, welcoming, adventurous, loves wordplay especially puns, and has a sense of humour. He also has a strong sense of right and wrong, and is protective of his friends. |
