The astrometrics lab, shown above, was formerly the stellar cartography lab for which, around stardate 51186, [#73 Revulsion], Kim and Seven produced an enhancement specification which combined Starfleet and Borg technology. Chakotay assigned Kim to lead the construction team.

On stardate 51244, [#75 Scientific Method], Engineering lost all morning trying to do work on the warp core . Torres found that Seven was "reconfiguring the power couplings in this section because the astrometrics lab requires additional energy": Seven had not realised that she needed Torres' permission first.
