I believe that you are punishing me because I do not think the way that you do, because I am not becoming more like you.

When I was first captured by the Borg I was young and frightened. I watched my parents assimilated. Then I was placed in a maturation chamber and the Hive mind began to restructure my synaptic pathways, purge my individuality. When I emerged five years later, the turmoil of my forced assimilation had been replaced with order. You may not be aware of this, Captain, but that order continues to be a source of strength for me. I could not have regained my humanity without it.

Seven: "According to my research children require structure." Chakotay: "I agree but not to this extreme. You're treating them like they're still on a Borg cube." Seven: "You're comparing me to the Collective." Chakotay: "You have all four children functioning as one. They do the same things together at the same time." Seven: "So that each child has the same opportunities to learn." Chakotay: "They're individuals. Maybe they're rebelling because you don't let them express themselves."
