Ensign Samantha Wildman is a xenobiologist in Voyager's Science Department. She is first seen in [#18 Elogium].

On stardate 48921.3, in [#18 Elogium], she finds she is pregnant with her first child, who will eventually be named Naomi.

Her husband is Greskrendtregk, a Ktarian, who had been left at Deep Space 9. The mission was expected to last three weeks but ship and crew ended up being hurled far across the galaxy in [#1 and #2 Caretaker] with 70,000 light-years' journey home in prospect. At first expecting a son, Samantha discusses the choice of name with the Doctor and Kes. Expecting a son:
"I've been considering naming him after my husband. It's been a tradition in his family for over five generations. My husband's name is Greskrendtregk. He's Ktarian. To be honest, I've been thinking of something simpler. What do you think of 'Cameron'? Or what about 'Frederick'? Well, it doesn't have to be a human name. Greskrendtregk would make a good middle name, don't you think?"

She rejects "Cameron" on hearing it means "one whose nose is bent", dismisses "Frederick" after the Doctor tells her "it bears a close resemblance to a rather impolite term on the Bolian homeworld." and she rules out the Vulcan name Sural after the Doctor tells her "unfortunately it was also the name of a dictator on Sakura Prime, famed for beheading his rivals and his parents." Fortunately she does not have to choose a male name as ultimately she gives birth to a girl.

On stardate 49548 ([Deadlock], in which we first learn Wildman's first name is Samantha) Wildman went into labour, but there were complications and the baby girl was delivered via a foetal transport procedure. The baby suffered haemocythemia and died. At this time Voyager had gone through a spatial scission and became duplicated. When Vidiians boarded the duplicate ship in order to harvest body parts from the crew, the duplicate Janeway sent the duplicate Harry Kim and the duplicate baby (which had survived) over to Voyager before self-destructing the duplicate ship.

Above 2 pictures and the one on the left: While she was a baby Naomi suffered an illness which was cured by a Hanonian during the time when Voyager's crew was stranded on the planet Hanon IV by the Kazon-Nistrim [#42 and #43 Basics]. The illness was cured by the medicine man and chief of the native tribe.

In [#99 Once Upon A Time] Wildman is badly injured when the Delta Flyer, carrying herself, Tom Paris and Tuvok crashlands and is buried under tons of bemonite. Voyager eventually succeeds in locating and beaming the Delta Flyer aboard. While she is away, Neelix keeps her daughter, Naomi, occupied on the holodeck and wonders whether to tell Naomi the truth about why her mother is away.
