[#1 and #2 Caretaker]
When Maquis commander Chakotay mysteriously vanishes in the Badlands along with his ship and crew, Starfleet Captain Janeway is assigned to search for them. Both ships end up in the Delta Quadrant, brought there by the Caretaker, a dying alien seeking a replacement to protect the Ocampa. The Ocampa are a peaceful people, who have telepathic powers. But they are vulnerable to would-be oppressors such as the Kazon. The Caretaker's experiments on the Maquis and Voyager crews lead to Starfleet's Kim and the Maquis' Torres being sent to the Ocampa planet to die of resulting disease. A Voyager-Maquis away team search for them, and in doing so encounter the Kazon-Ogla who are holding a young Ocampan woman hostage - Kes. |

[#4 Time And Again] *
Kes believes her people's ancient legends which say the Ocampa possess extraordinary mental powers such as limited telepathy and the ability to see visions from the future. Soon after she arrives on Voyager, these powers began to surface in Kes, when she senses the destruction of a planet. The crew go to the planet and learn that its civilisation has just been destroyed by a polaric energy explosion. An away team investigates, but two members, Janeway and Paris, are transported back in time to a day before the explosion. The crew's rescue attempt is aided by Kes' ability to connect mentally with Janeway. |

[#5 Phage] The hunt is on for the Vidiians who stole Neelix's lung, leaving him on life support. Faced with the prospect of not retrieving the lungs, Kes shows her love for him by offering one of her lungs for transplant. | ![]() |

Haakonian scientist Dr Ma'Bor Jetrel arrives on Voyager and announces distressing news - Neelix has contracted metremia poisoning resulting from Jetrel's weapon of mass destruction which killed hundreds of thousands of Neelix's people including all his family. Kes helps Neelix through the trauma of facing his people's nemesis and onto the start of coming to terms with the past. |

[#18 Elogium] *
Voyager's proximity to an unusual lifeforms leads to Kes becoming sexually active prematurely. The elogium is the period when an Ocampa female can mate and produce a child, a period which occurs only once in their lifetime. |
SEASON 2

Kes learns to pilot a Federation shuttlecraft with Tom Paris as her teacher, unaware that Paris finds her attractive but is suppressing his feelings out of respect for Neelix. However, Neelix observes the signs and his jealously caused friction between himself and Paris. When a shuttlecraft carrying Neelix and Paris crashlands on an environmentally hostile planet, Kes is worried sick that, even if they survive, they will tear each other apart. |

Voyager encounters a group of long-lived Ocampa living on an array under the care of the Caretaker's mate Suspiria. Kes meets the colony's Ocampan leader, Tanis. Under his influence Kes temporarily gains spectacular telekinetic powers. Tanis invites Kes to settle in the colony. While Kes considers this attractive proposal, she is unaware that Suspiria blames the Voyager crew for killing her mate and wants revenge. | ![]() |

A transporter accident results in Tuvok and Neelix being fused into a single being, who adopts the name Tuvix. Kes' romantic feelings for Neelix become strained as she struggles to come to terms with the situation. |

As Voyager is pursued by a swarm of hostile insectoids through their territory, Kes comes up with a plan to rescue the Doctor's degrading program. |

[#52 Warlord] *
Voyager rescues several Ilari but their leader, Tieran, dies of his injuries, with Kes at his side. Soon afterwards Kes exhibits uncharacteristic violent behaviour by killing the transporter officer and beaming to the planet surface with the other Ilari. In fact, Tieran had transferred his neural pattern into her body. In his commandeered body, he mounts a coup and murders the Ilari Autarch. Kes' mental struggle against domination by Tieran's strong mind shows itself, for instance in Tieran's sudden love for flora, and the Voyager crew, piecing together what has happened, plan a rescue. While occupied by Tieran's mind, Kes breaks up with Neelix, and does not reaffirm the relationship afterwards. |

The Doctor adds personality traits to his program from great historical figures such as Gandhi and Lord Byron. But their dark traits result in a "darkling", an evil Doctor who kidnaps Kes and flees Voyager. |

[#63 Before And After] *
Mysteriously, Kes starts living her life backwards from the state of old age, via a series of unexpected "jumps". She must find out what caused the phenomenon and elicit the help of the Voyager crew in an attempt to stop it. Unfortunately, as she "travels" ship and crew are less and less able to provide the necessary means. |
