This section contains screenshots illustrating Kathryn Janeway's changing hairstyle throughout the 7 years (2371-2377) that she captains USS Voyager in the Delta Quadrant. She begins with her hair tied back severely, in a bun, with a brief experimentation a bit like a ?French chignon/pleat (I mean the style known as the best way to dress and pin long hair for wearing a formal hat). She moves to a ponytail, then has a lot of hair cut off and wears several variations of a bob. When she has a ponytail, the hair slide or fastener varies in shape and colour, and the way the hair is scooped back from the face and tied into the ponytail varies. By the time she is seen as an admiral in [Star Trek X: Nemesis] she has grown her hair long enough for it to be tied back. Wags among the fans call Janeway's early bun "the bun of steel".
