ROMANCE
When a Botha invaded the ship, [#24 Persistence of Vision], and caused the crew to have hallucinations containing their deepest desires, the crew were paralysed while having the hallucinations. Torres' deepest desire was for Chakotay to be in love with her.
On stardate 50537 Vorik entered his first pon farr and asked Torres to be his mate.

She refused but Vorik seized her face, which unwittingly initiated a telepathic mating bond. As a result Torres went through the pon farr herself. Her feelings for Paris surfaced and they kissed passionately but Paris refused to take advantage of her in this artificial state. Later Vorik arrived and issued the koon-ut kal-if-fee challenge (Vulcan ritual combat), Torres fought Vorik and defeated him. | ![]() [#58 Blood Fever] |

Torres' romance with Tom Paris is detailed in: Tom and B'Elanna's Courtship, Wedding and Just Married

An example of Paris' courtship of Torres is given below, from [#64 Real Life]:
Torres likes reading Klingon romance novels such as 'Women Warriors at the River of Blood' which Tom Paris caught her reading when he joined her for lunch, in [#64 Real Life]. |
![]() | Paris: "A beautiful woman should never have to eat alone. What are you reading?" |
![]() | Torres hides the PADD by putting her hand over the text. "It's nothing important." |
![]() | Paris manages to take the PADD. Reading the title: "'Women Warriors at the River of Blood'?"
Torres, embarrassed, trying to make light of it: "It's just escapist reading." |
![]() | Paris reads: "'Rorg turned his fierce eye upon her, and M'Nea felt her heart begin to quicken, even as her hand went to her dagger. She had intended to plunge it into his throat, but something about him made her hesitate.' B'Elanna, is this a Klingon romance novel?" |
![]() | Torres: "Klingons do have what you might call a romantic side. It's a bit more vigorous than most." |
![]() | Paris flirts back: "I think that definition works."
Torres: "Well, I can't promise I won't put a dagger in your throat." He chuckles. | ![]() |
