BEHIND-THE-SCENES : STARTING THE SERIES

Much here is about [#1 and #2 Caretaker] production but there are also aspects on the first few Season 1 episodes. ....SCROLL for why, Notes and Navigation....

The section cannot be about just one episode, namely the series opener [#1 and #2 Caretaker], because for the writers and production staff starting the series dealt with many issues and covered several episodes right from the start.  Season and series concepts and storylines as far ahead as, say, [#7 Eye Of The Needle] were being worked on during the production of [#1 and #2 Caretaker] (admittedly due to a hair "problem" that necessitated reshooting some [#1 and #2 Caretaker] scenes), and once live action shooting of [#1 and #2 Caretaker] scenes were done and post-production work on it moved into high gear, creation of sets and props and live action shooting for subsequent episodes began.
