Map 5: Los Angeles: places in [Future's End]

which beam to Episode Synopsis.

USS Voyager is pulled into the temporal rift after Captain Braxton in his 29th century Federation timeship Aeon. The latter arrives on Earth in 1967, while Voyager arrives in 1996. Voyager's sensors pick up low frequency subspace readings emanating from Earth's northern hemisphere. Since subspace technology should not exist for another hundred years or so, indicating that it could be Captain Braxton. The source is localised to the North American continent, Pacific coast, the city of Los Angeles, and Janeway leads an away team to find Braxton, realising that he may be their only hope of successfully returning to their own time. To pass as locals in this era, Tom Paris, who is somewhat of an aficionado of 20th century Earth, advises that they will need: "Nice clothes, fast car and lots of money." As the away team members look across Santa Monica beach and pier, Tuvok comments: "We could have worn our Starfleet uniforms. I doubt if anyone would have noticed."

a skateboarder knocks into a display, the owner/vendor complains and the skateboarder helps put them aright, [Future's End]

the label reads "Uncle Sam's psychic readings" (Uncle Sam is a widely known affectionate nickname for the United States of America)
The above are from a sequence where the camera pans across; there are no wholly unblurred frames as the camera pans too quickly, producing too high a degree of motion blur; I could have chosen to include pictures with some blur or else omit them altogether

Tuvok: "We could have worn our Starfleet uniforms. I doubt if anyone would have noticed."

Below: The subspace readings are within 100 metres, so Janeway (with tricorder) and Chakotay discreetly search the boardwalk.

(when I saw "McCoy" I immediately thought of Dr Leonard McCoy of the USS Enterprise NCC-1701; this may have been intended by the scriptwriters if "McCoy" is not a real life surfboard manufacturer)
