Salary: payable in share options, worthless now but hopefully valuable once share values recover. You will also have to deal with investigations by the police and by health and safety officials into the demise of Mr Dunbar, Starling's assistant, killed on company time and while driving a Chronowerx vehicle. You will also be expected to invent a profitable revolutionary technological innovation every few months.
