In Sickbay, the Doctor is treating an injured crewmember when he hears an audio alert.

He goes over to the console.

He accesses the neural interface program and calls up Janeway's profile.

Meanwhile Janeway is still examining the radio messages. "They're moving armoured units into the valley. They must know the Americans are coming. We've got to warn them somehow." She gets up and turns to Seven. She is surprised: "What are you doing? You haven't set the charges. What is that?" Seven: "I believe it is a transmitter. I'm attempting to disable it." Janeway: "You're sending a message to the Nazis." Seven: "No."

Janeway pulls out her gun and points it at her: "Step away, or I'll kill you."

Suddenly the Hirogen Medic interrupts. Hirogen Medic: "What are you doing?" Doctor: "Er, nothing, just running a diagnostic."

The Hirogen Medic pushes him away from the console and realises: "You've accessed the neural interface controls. Stop it immediately." As he pushes the Doctor away, the Doctor manages to press a control.

Command Post inside Nazi Headquarters. Janeway to Seven: "I told you no more mistakes. You've just made your last one." Her finger tightens on the trigger.

In Sickbay the Doctor is pleased to see that the Captain's neural interface is disabled.

Command Post, Nazi Headquarters. Suddenly Janeway feels a pain in her neck. "Aargh!" It is the neural interface being disabled.

For a brief moment she glances round, trying to orientate herself. "Seven." Seven: "Captain."

In the Klingon simulation on Holodeck 2, Neelix's persona is that of a Klingon warrior. He is with two Klingons and Alpha Hirogen who is dressed as a Klingon. The group is on the hunt for enemies. The howl of an animal is heard. Neelix: "Listen! A targ, just beyond that ridge." Alpha Hirogen: "You would hunt down a simple beast even in the midst of our enemies?" Neelix: "There is no enemy as great as hunger!"

The com. signal sounds. Alpha Hirogen clicks his combadge. "Why am I being interrupted?"

Hirogen Medic, via comms: "The holographic Doctor, he's disabled their Captain's interface." Alpha Hirogen, via comms: How?" Hirogen Medic, via comms: "I don't know, but I can't re-establish the link."

Alpha Hirogen, via comms: "Send a team to Holodeck 1. Remove her from the simulation." He strides away to deal with the matter.

Outside Nazi Headquarters, Tuvok who is standing guard for Janeway and Seven, sees two unidentified but heavily armed soldiers head towards the building. He opens fire on them.

They fire back, and their overwhelming fire-power forces Tuvok to retreat.

Command Post inside Nazi Headquarters. Janeway and Seven are working at the Holodeck controls.

Seven goes over to the window and peers out: "Hirogen hunters." Janeway: "Internal scans show 13 of them on this Holodeck."

Tuvok bravely emerges from cover to engage the Hirogen single-handed.

Suddenly American troops arrive and rush down the steps to his aid, opening fire on the Hirogen Chakotay: "Need a hand, buddy? Captain Miller, Fifth Armoured Infantry."

Tuvok: "Welcome to Sainte Claire."
He crouches down next to Tuvok, as sniper fire is exchanged between the Germans and the Americans.
Chakotay to the radio operator: "Get me artillery unit Charlie 1." To his men including Paris: "Take up positions along this street and start laying down fire."

Command post inside Nazi Headquarters. Seven, commenting on the escalation of the battle: "The Americans have arrived."

Alpha Hirogen hurries onto the Bridge, goes over to Kim and angrily shoves him against the wall. Alpha Hirogen: "You circumvented our control. How?" Kim: "Go to hell!"

In 'Le Coeur de Lion', Torres takes up position by the entrance as the sounds of weapons fire gets closer. Someone enters the place. She prepares to open fire.

Paris appears, gun pointed at her, expecting Nazis.

Torres: "Bobby!" Paris: "You owe me a postcard."

Outside Nazi Headquarters, in the street. Chakotay, by radio: "Distance eight hundred yards. Correct for crosswinds. Fire at will." He ends contact and shouts: "Take cover, boys! Charlie 1 isn't known for accuracy!"

Command post inside Nazi Headquarters. Janeway: "I can't access the ship's systems Didn't you say this was Nazi Headquarters?" Seven: "I did." Janeway: "Then it would stand to reason this building is being targetted. Let's get out of here." They hurry out.

4 pictures below: They escape the building only just in time. There is a massive explosion and they dive for cover. The entire starship shakes.

Bridge. Alpha Hirogen: "What happened?!" Kim: "There was a simulated explosion in Holodeck 1. Somehow it blew out the hologrid across three decks." Alpha Hirogen: "Is the program still running?" Kim: "Yes."

In the street in Sainte Claire, Tuvok and Chakotay stare up at where the Headquarters used to be.

If they were not still controlled by the Hirogen neural interfaces, they would realise that they are looking at extensive damage to the Holodeck with it suffering a gigantic rip which exposes parts of several decks to view. Tuvok: "What is it?" Chakotay: "Looks like a bunker." He picks up the radio phone: "All units, listen up. We've just blown the lid off some kind of secret Nazi compound. Converge on my position. We're going in."

Janeway and Seven also stare up at where the Nazi Headquarters used to be, but they know what it is they are seeing.

Bridge. Kim: "The breach opened the simulation into the surrounding sections. I'm picking up holographic soldiers moving into deck 5." Alpha Hirogen: "Shut down the holo-emitters until we can regain control!" Kim tries to do so but reports: "I can't. The program controls are offline." Grimly: "You wanted a war? Looks like you've got one."

In the Holodeck, troops converge on the 'bunker' - they are about to get into other parts of the ship! This is where Part One ends as aired on television.
