![]() | Tuvok: "Welcome to the first night of Prixin, the Talaxian observance of familial allegiance. This year Mr Neelix has requested that I commence the celebration with the traditional salutation.
'We do not stand alone. We are in the arms of family: father, mother, sister, brother, father's father, father's mother, father's brother, mother's brother, fa-.... Suffice it to say the list is extensive. We gather this day to extol the warmth and joy of those unshakable bonds. Without them we could not call ourselves complete. On this day we are thankful to be together. We do not stand alone.'" |
![]() | While the gathering listens to Tuvok's words, Neelix is no doubt thinking about his family who were murdered by the Metreon Cascade (described in detail in the episode [#15 Jetrel]). | ![]() |

Paris: "A few days ago we almost lost a member of our family. I don't know how the rest of you feel but it scared the hell out of me. Neelix, you still don't know how to make a pizza, but I'm glad you're here."
Janeway: "So am I. Here's to you, Neelix." Neelix is too emotional unsettled inside himself and is unable to make a reply, but he hides this: "Thank you, everyone. Well, enjoy. Computer: music." |
![]() | Neelix apologises to Chakotay for what he said on the Holodeck. Chakotay senses that all is not well and offers Neelix the opportunity to talk to him whenever he wants: "You know where to find me." |
![]() | Janeway: "Having fun?"
Seven: "No." Janeway: "That's probably because you've been standing here by yourself." Seven: "I don't understand the rules and procedures for this kind of social occasion." Janeway: "The rules are simple: choose a group of people, listen to their conversation then, when you feel you have something to contribute, chime in." Janeway: "Chime in." Seven: "Chime in?" Janeway: "Say something, join the discussion." | ![]() |
![]() | Seven chooses to join the Doctor and Ensign Wildman in conversation. The Doctor says that the early Ktarean stages are astounding: Naomi has grown 5 cm since he last examined her 3 weeks ago. Wildman says that her daughter is growing so fast it seems that every time she turns round she is recycling her clothes in the replicator. Seven makes the statement that Borg children are put into maturation chambers for seventeen cycles. This makes Ensign Wildman uncomfortable and she leaves.
Doctor to Seven: "In these maturation chambers the development of conversational skills is, I suppose, a low priority?" |
![]() | Ensign Wildman tells Neelix that Naomi misses him, for he has not visited her for a few days, and frankly she does too for Naomi has had problems getting to sleep: "'Only Neelix can tuck me in. I want Neelix!'" Neelix leaves, "But duty calls," and goes to put Naomi to bed. He orders all monsters to get out of the room. He is disturbed when Naomi asks him to tell her about the Great Forest. Naomi had a lovely dream last night about the place. | ![]() |
