In Cargo Bay 2, Seven of Nine tries to get used to the look and feel of her new garb.

The doors open. cargo bay doors Janeway and the Doctor enter, accompanied by a security guard. Doctor: "I've extracted 82 per cent of the Borg hardware. The remaining bio-implants are stable and better than anything I could synthesise at such short notice." Seven of Nine: "It is acceptable."

Doctor: "Fashion of course is hardly my forté. Nonetheless, I've managed to balance functionality and aesthetics in a pleasing enough manner. I also took the liberty of stimulating your hair follicles, a vicarious experience for me, as you might imagine." He leaves.

Janeway: "You'll have to spend a few hours each days regenerating in a Borg alcove until your human metabolism can function on its own. We'll leave one operational." Seven of Nine: "Understood." Janeway: "Let's see how things go over the next few weeks. I'll consider granting you access to the rest of the ship once I can trust that you won't try to get us all assimilated again." Seven of Nine: "It will not happen again." Janeway: "Good." She hands her a combadge. "If you need anything, contact me."

She turns and heads for the exit. As she reaches the door, a memory comes to Seven of Nine and she suddenly says: "Red."

Janeway turns back toward her. "What?" Seven of Nine: "The child you spoke of, the girl. Her favourite colour was red." Janeway is pleased. It shows that Seven of Nine has started on the long road to regaining her humanity.

That night, in his quarters, Tuvok carries his meditation lamp to the window.

He places it in the window, in memory of his friend Kes, as a farewell tribute to her, and supremely appropriate in view of her control of its flame during the meditation session.

Tuvok's quarters, seen from further away....

....and from even further away. Voyager's journey continues.
