Later, after the preparations are made, Kim reports: "Borg modifications are complete." Janeway: "Bring them online." Kim: "Torpedo launch tubes: active. Hull armour: engaged. Shield enhancements: stable." Tuvok: "Bio-molecular weapons are ready: thirteen standard torpedoes and one Class 10 armed with a high-yield warhead." Janeway, via comms: "All hands, this is the Captain. Ready your stations. Seal all emergency bulkheads, and prepare to engage the enemy. Stand by for my orders."

The Borg modifications to Voyager come online.

Paris: "Four bio-ships just entered sensor range!" Janeway: "Battle stations." The klaxon sounds. Kim: "I've got a visual."

Janeway: "On screen."

Seven of Nine observes.

The viewscreen shows Species 8472 bio-ships approaching.

Kes gets a mental flash - it is an alien face. "I can hear them. They want to talk through me. They say we've contaminated their realm."

Janeway: "Tell them we had no choice. We were only trying to defend ourselves." Kes: "They say our galaxy is impure. Its proximity is a threat to their genetic integrity." Janeway: "Tell them we have a weapon, a devastating weapon that can destroy them at the cellular level. If they don't stop their attacks on the Delta Quadrant, we'll be forced to use it." Kes tells them mentally and conveys their telepathic reply. "They said: 'Your galaxy will be purged.'"

The bio-ships attack. Fiery energy tendrils flash through fluidic space at Voyager.

The Species 8472 weapons fire rocks the ship hard but does not hit the ship. Nevertheless, Voyager is shaken heavily.

Kim ducks as a console explodes nearby. "Shields and weapons are offline!"

Tuvok: "Re-routing emergency power to the launchers." Paris: "They're coming around for another assault! I've lost thrusters!"

Tuvok: "Bio-molecular warheads are charged and ready."

Janeway: "Fire!"

Voyager opens fire.

Tuvok: "Direct hit on all four vessels. No effect." Kim: "They're charging weapons!"

Suddenly one of the bio-ships changes appearance, and then shatters in an explosion. The same happens to the other bio-ships.
Tuvok: "The nanoprobes were successful, if not prompt. All four ships have been destroyed."

Janeway to Seven of Nine: "I think we've made our point. Now, open a singularity, and get us out of here."

Seven of Nine goes to a console beneath the master situation display at the rear of the Bridge, and obeys.

A quantum singularity opens into our space and the Borgified Voyager flies out, returning to normal space.

Voyager leaves Species 8472's realm of fluidic space and re-enters normal space through a quantum singularity. (pop-up window)
