Kim: "Got to think about my choice." Eliann: "I know you're attracted to me. There's been a connection between us since the moment you got here." Kim: "You're right. I felt it too." He places a chair and gestures for her to sit down. "I'm definitely considering you as one of my wives."

He takes one of her belts and ties her hands behind her. Eliann: "What are you doing?" Kim, gagging her: "Well, it's like you said before. This could be exciting."

He sets a chair for Rinna. To Rinna who hangs back from sitting down. "Remember, you both want to make me happy, don't you?"

Rinna: "This is some kind of trick!" She goes over to Eliann and is about to start untying her.

Kim comes up behind her and hits her with a vase. She slumps unconscious.

Kim to Rinna: "Sorry about that." Eliann makes muffled squeals. As he heads for the door, he puts his finger over his lips in a "shush!" gesture to Eliann. He checks the corridor is clear and then leaves.

Kim hurries along the corridor, all the time listening out for pursuit.

He arrives at Taymon's quarters. Kim, knocking on the door: "Taymon, it's Harry. I really need your help." There is no response.

The door is locked so he forces open the door and enters. "Are you in there?"

Suddenly he sees Taymon - he has died in some terrible way! Kim stares, horrified!

Sounds indicate that the door is being opened. Kim stands by the door grasping a utensil as a potential weapon. Malia enters.

Kim seizes her: "So this is what I should expect on my honeymoon?" Malia: "It would've been much easier for you if you hadn't seen this." Kim: "You mean easier for you to lead me to the slaughter. What'd you do to Taymon?" Malia: "We must nucleate a large number of cells to collect enough genetic material for conception." Kim: "That's why there are no men here. They don't leave with their embryos in stasis, they're killed!" Malia: "Any father should be willing to sacrifice himself for the sake of his children, for the continuation of his race." Kim: "Was anything you told me true? About Taresians being born on other worlds? About my being one of you?!" Malia: "It's true male children are very rare here, and that we seek out new DNA to sustain our race. We need males of other species, like you, who can be transformed into compatible mates." Kim: "Transformed. That's what these genes are doing to me." Malia: "You'll be celebrated for your contribution." Kim: "Don't count on it. You're going to take me to a communications terminal where I can contact my ship."

As he forces her to the doorway, he stops as the door opens and Taymon's other wives (or widows) enter.

They turn as Malia gasps as Kim starts to back out of the door, still holding her hostage.

Kim to the two women: "Stay out of my way!" Malia to Kim: "This won't work. You're too important to us. Whatever happens to me, they won't allow you to leave."

He pushes her toward the other women and they all topple onto the bed.

This gives Kim enough time to rush out and shut the door.

At the security/tactical station on Voyager's Bridge, Chakotay indicates the monitor.

Chakotay: "If we can hit the grid here, we'll have a few seconds before the patrol ship can move in to intercept us." Janeway: "That doesn't give you much time to get a lock on Harry." Chakotay: "Then I'll have to be quick."

Janeway: "Are the shields ready?" Tuvok: "The new configuration is stable."

Janeway: "Set a course for the target co-ordinates and engage at full impulse." Paris: "Aye, Captain."

Voyager flies into the grid. Tuvok: "We're disrupting the grid, but we need more speed to overcome the inertial resistance."

Paris: "Increasing power. We're clear."

Chakotay: "I'm not picking up Harry's com. signal. Initiating level 1 bioscans of the surface." Tuvok: "Captain, the Taresian ship is on an intercept course."

Janeway: "Battle stations." Lights dim, red alert lights flash and klaxons sound.

On Taresia, Kim flees Taymon's room. A woman uses a ritual stave to force him into the main living area. He starts toward each of the exits but sees them blocked by another woman, each holding a staff.

Kim battles one woman, but the others converge on him.

The woman in yellow strikes Kim with her staff and he flails backward.

She strikes him in the abdomen then.....

....knocks him sideways.

Lyris, angrily: "This could have been a joyous occasion."
