 | Gradually Neelix regains consciousness, but he is in pain. He touches the wound on his head. As he turns he is amazed to see....Tuvok outside the door! Tuvok signals him. |  |
| With an effort, Neelix gets up and quietly moves to the door control. The others are engrossed in trying to get the carriage moving and do not notice him.
Sklar, with phaser in hand: "Why haven't we started?" Lillias: "If we don't get moving soon the tether couplings will give out. They'll snap. We'll lose mag-lev cohesion." Sklar: "Then get us moving!" Lillias: "I can't! I don't know how." Sklar: "There's the accelerator control. Try it." Lillias: "Too dangerous. We've got to secure the tether first." Sklar to Hanjuan: "Right, you. Go outside and check the couplings." He continues to issue orders. Hanjuan argues. Lillias insists: "The only person who knows how to pilot this ship is Neelix." Sklar: "Is it that complicated? Keep trying." Lillias: "I'm doing my best!" Neelix opens the door and Tuvok staggers inside. |
The sudden depressurisation throws everyone off balance, including Sklar who drops the data storage device as steadies himself and tries to aim the phaser at Tuvok.
But Tuvok throws himself on Sklar. They struggle together. Sklar loses the phaser. He attacks Tuvok with a pipe but Tuvok stops him with a kick. As Sklar is near the door and off balance he cannot stop himself being sucked out of the carriage.

 | Tuvok staggers to the door control and closes the door. Then he looks at Neelix's wound and gets a tricorder out of the medkit. He scans Neelix. | |||||||||||||
 | Neelix: "I'm glad you're alright."
Tuvok: "Fortunately I was able to grab hold of an induction coil and climb to safety. Thank you, Mr Neelix." Neelix: "What?" | |||||||||||||
 | Tuvok: "I said 'thank you'. For opening the door."
Neelix: "Don't mention it." | |||||||||||||
 | Tuvok: "I believe we know now who killed Dr Vatm."
Hanjuan: "Why did he kill him?" Tuvok: "The data storage device contains tactical information about an alien starship: weapons, warp drive, shield modulations. Apparently Sklar did not want us to find it." To Neelix, as he finishes his scans: "You have an occipital concussion. I'm afraid my understanding of Talaxian physiology is limited. I cannot treat you." Lillias turns. Desperately: "I don't know how to do this. We're going to lose cohesion any minute now." | |||||||||||||
 | Tuvok: "Neelix, we need you."
Neelix: "I don't think I can do it." Tuvok: "You must." Neelix struggles to get up, but the pain is too much for him and he collapses again: "I can barely keep my eyes open." Tuvok shows that he knows more about people than Neelix originally thought when he gets closer to him and urges him: "Do it for Alixia. She would be proud of you." |
 | Neelix opens his eyes at this. "I'm glad your interpersonal skills are improving."
With Tuvok's help he successfully gets to his feet. "You're learning how to motivate people." |

 | He operates the control console and the carriage starts moving again.
Neelix: "Speed 45 kilometres per hour." He pats the console and thinks: well done, Alixia. |

 | Voyager is facing the Etanian Order invasion starship.
Chakotay: "The ship is within range. They're charging weapons." Janeway: "Full power to the shields. Ready phasers." |

 | The Etanian Order ship fires at Voyager.
Kim reports: "Shields down to 85 per cent." |

 | Janeway: "Return fire."
Chakotay: "No effect. We can't penetrate their shields." |
