Part M

Voyager defends itself against attack by the three Vidiian ships.

	Kim: "Shields down to 58 percent." Tuvok: "Re-arm the forward phaser array and fire at will." Kim: "Firing."
	Paris: "Shields down to 47 percent. Sir, there are just too many of them." Tuvok: "Load aft torpedo bays." Kim: "Torpedoes armed." Tuvok: "Fire number one." The torpedo is fired. "Report." Paris: "They're still coming."
	Tuvok: "Fire number two."
	Voyager and a Vidiian ship exchange fire.
	Tuvok opens a comline. "Tuvok to Engineering." Torres, via comms: "Torres here, sir." Tuvok, via comms: "Listen carefully."
	A crewmember walks into Sickbay. Kes tells the Doctor: "She has a broken arm." Doctor: "Set it with the osteogenic stimulator." Kes tells the Doctor: "I think there's someone on the monitor." To the injured woman: "This way." and takes her to the primary biobed.
	The Doctor goes to the monitor. "Odd. Why don't they just use the comline? I don't think this is coming from our ship." Danara Pel's voice can be heard and an image shaky with interference appears on the monitor. "Shmullus, Shmullus, can you hear me?" Doctor: "Danara." Pel: "Shmullus, I have to do this quickly. I'm on one of the Vidiian ships."

	Doctor: "Do they know you're contacting me? Are you in any danger?" Pel: "No, everyone's too focussed on the battle. Oh Schmullus, I swear I didn't know they'd planned to attack. I thought we were on an errand of mercy." Doctor: "I believe you."
	Pel: I have the anti-viral serum here. If you could use your transporter to get it to your-" Doctor: "Our shields are up. We can't transport anything through them. Pel: "I don't know what else to suggest. Doctor: "Alright. I'll see what I can do." The communication ends.
	Kes: "Maybe we could lower the shields long enough to transport the serum." The Doctor opens a comline. "Sickbay to bridge." Tuvok, via comms: "This is Tuvok. We're rather busy here, Doctor." Doctor, via comms: "Dr Pel is on one of the Vidiian ships. If we can drop our shields briefly we can beam aboard the serum."
	Tuvok, via comms: "Keep this comm. line open, Doctor. When you hear me order the shields down you must complete a site-to-site transport yourself; we will be busy with the Vidiians."

Tuvok, via comms: "Bridge to Engineering. Report." Torres, via comms: "Ready to eject the antimatter container." Tuvok, via comms: "Stand by for my command."

	Tuvok addresses his officers: "Here is the sequence of events. We will drop shields to transport the medicine. At the same moment the anti-matter container will be ejected. As soon as it's clear Mr Kim will detonate it with a photon torpedo."
	Tuvok continues: "Simultaneously Mr Paris will jump to full impulse so that we will not take the brunt of the explosion. Is everyone clear on this? Timing is of the utmost importance. We won't get a second chance." Paris: "Understood." Kim: "Aye, Sir." Torres: "We're ready down here." Tuvok, via comms: "Doctor?" Doctor: "I'm set up to make the transport." Tuvok: "Stand ready then."
	Tuvok: "Lower shields."

Doctor, via comms: "Initiating transport."
The medicine begins to materialise.
Torres, via comms: "Ejecting the antimatter container NOW."
An antimatter container is ejected at speed toward the Vidiian ships. The medicine finishes materialising.
Doctor, via comms: "We've got it. Raise shields."
Tuvok: "Mr Kim, Mr Paris, go."

The fired torpedo speeds towards the antimatter container, and blows it up. Voyager goes to full impulse to flee the explosion's shockwave. The Vidiians ships, which are close to the explosion, are crippled.

Tuvok: "Report." Kim: "The Vidiian ships are all disabled, sir. They're not pursuing." Paris: "Ready to go to warp, sir." Tuvok: "Set a course for the planet where we left the Captain and Commander Chakotay. Warp six." Paris: "Aye, aye, sir."

Voyager's nacelles fold upward and the starship goes to warp.
