Janet's Star Trek Voyager Site

INVESTIGATIONS
Episode 36
Part F

Kim: "Captain, we've lost weapons. It looks like the phaser arrays have been disabled," surprised, "from Engineering."
Janeway turns and addresses the helm: "Evasive maneuvers, Ensign." She turns back to Kim: "Mr Kim, get those weapons back online."
The Kazon ship attacks Voyager with one phaser volley after another.

26 pictures below: An attack by Kazon damages engineering systems. In Engineering, Neelix reaches almost to the top of the ladder but he realises he must attack Jonas as quickly as possible and prevent whatever sabotage he is up to. While still on the ladder, Neelix hits Jonas' legs with the engineering tool he has armed himself with. Jonas falls heavily and painfully. Neelix rushes onto the upper level. He and Jonas are now engaged in a fight to the death. Jonas manages to hurl Neelix's weapon into a plasma stream. Neelix throws Jonas' weight off him and onto the console. Jonas sees the chance to shove Neelix himself into the plasma stream. Snarling, Jonas charges Neelix, but Neelix sidesteps him. Jonas' momentum, helped somewhat by Neelix's pushing him away, causes Jonas to go head over heels over the railing. Jonas plummets and is destroyed in the plasma stream! Neelix then reactivates the weapons systems and hurries down to the lower level.

On the Bridge, Kim reports: "Weapons are back online, Captain."
Janeway: "Fire at will."
Kim: "Yes, ma'am."

The Kazon ship closes in on Voyager.

Voyager fires phasers at the Kazon ship, hitting it and crippling it.

In Engineering, on the lower level, Neelix goes to a console and disables the forcefield.

With the doors now also unsealed, the doors open. Security guards hurry in, and Tuvok goes up to Neelix.

Tuvok: "Are you injured?"
Neelix: "Don't worry about me, Mr Vulcan. I'm perfectly alright. Unfortunately, Mr Jonas wasn't so lucky."

The com. signal sounds. Janeway, via comms: "Bridge to Tuvok. I'm standing down red alert." Full lights come on.
Neelix smiles: "Well, I'm going to have plenty of material for tomorrow's 'Briefing With Neelix'."

Neelix's exciting interview with Paris for A Briefing With Neelix is drawing to a close. (Pictures are as filmed by Neelix's recording device.)
Paris: "And fortunately I was able to steal one of the Kazon shuttles and escape."
Neelix: "An amazing story, amazing!"

Paris: "I'd like to say something more, if I might."
Neelix: "Of course."
Paris: "Erm, I know that I've been acting like a jerk for the last couple of months. Unfortunately, I had to behave that way if the spy was going to believe that I really wanted to leave the ship. So, I'd like to apologise to anyone that I might have offended, erm, especially Commander Chakotay. I gave him a pretty hard time."

Paris continues: "Not that it wasn't a certain amount of fun, mind you."

As Paris laughs, Neelix joins in.

Neelix turns to the viewers: "There you have it, ladies and gentlemen, the true hero of this whole endeavour, Lieutenant Thomas Eugene Paris. audio clip Well, I'm afraid that's all the time we have. Oh, I'd like to apologise to the Doctor for not getting around to him once again today. Er, but I promise you he'll be here tomorrow with lots of fascinating information about the Bolian digestive system." He winks. "Good day, Voyager."
