| The aeroplane is a Lockheed L10 Electra, the model which Earhart chose for her 'world tour' (model L-10-E - you can see this indicated on the Lockheed plaque on the interface's overhead panel). The image is a slightly different color scheme from the one in the episode i.e. with a color and finish more suitable for a webpage). Image (tweaked by me) is from Microsoft's Flight Simulator program. | ||
| ||
| The cockpit interface is composed of several screenshots from Microsoft's program Flight Simulator of a Lockheed L-10-E, the model flown by Amelia Earhart on her ill-fated attempt to circumnavigate the globe in 1937. The cockpit design (edited of course by me for the purposes of interface design) is by FS Design Berlin who modernised the cockpit a bit. Note also, not mentioned by them, that Earhart's Electra had fewer fuselage windows than other Electras (not an issue as regards my interface). | ||
| The view visible through the window of my Lockheed Electra is of the Briori planet. It comes from a screenshot from the episode. | ||
| You can buy model kits with decals for various individual models including Earthart's plane. The image of the L-10-E model used as a divider on this page is a picture of a fully-constructed model kit. Picture by Peter Hobbins: Special Hobby 1/72 Model 10 Electra. | ||
