Admiral Janeway's apartment block.
Admiral Janeway admits the Doctor and comments, "You must be the only doctor who still makes house calls."
The Doctor scans her with a medical tricorder: "What are your symptoms?"
Admiral Janeway: "I'm perfectly fine."
Doctor: "For 33 years you've fought me every time you were due for a physical. Now you ask me to give you one ahead of schedule?"
Admiral Janeway: "I'm taking a trip. I just wanted to get our appointment out of the way before I left."
Doctor: "That's all?"
Admiral Janeway: "That's all."
Doctor: "Hmm. The good news is: you're as healthy as the day I first examined you."
Admiral Janeway: "Well now that that's out of the way, have a seat." She packs clothes as she speaks, including her admiral's uniform. "We didn't get to talk much at the party."
Doctor: "No, I don't suppose we did."
Admiral Janeway: "So how's married life?"
Doctor: "Wonderful. You should try it."
Admiral Janeway: "Oh I think it's a little late for that. Marriage is for the young, like your wife."
Doctor: "I can only hope she ages as gracefully as you have. I of course will be the same handsome hologram 20 years from now as I am today." click for audio clip from the episode

Admiral Janeway: "I've been meaning to ask you: are you familiar with the drug called chronexaline?"
Doctor: "We've been testing it at Starfleet Medical to determine if it can protect biomatter from tachyon radiation."
Admiral Janeway: "And?"
Doctor: "It's very promising. Why do you ask?"
Admiral Janeway: "I need 2,000 milligrams by tomorrow afternoon."
Doctor: "Why?"
Admiral Janeway: "That's classified. Will you get it for me?"
Doctor: "Of course, Admiral. You'll have it by 0900."
Admiral Janeway: "Thank you."

It is late at Pathfinder. The computer downloads information into a PADD Commander Barclay is holding. Finally the computer announces, "Download complete."

Commander Barclay hands the PADD to Admiral Janeway: "This should be everything you need."
Admiral Janeway: "The shuttle?"
Commander Barclay: "Waiting for you at the Oakland Shipyard. I wish you'd let me come with you."
Admiral Janeway: "Sorry, Reg, but this is my mission. Besides, if you leave, there won't be anyone to teach eager young cadets about the Borg."
Commander Barclay: "Oh, I made you some fresh tea for the trip. Not that replicated stuff." He hands her a thermos flask.
Admiral Janeway: "Thank you. For everything. I wouldn't have been able to do this without you."
Commander Barclay smiles: "Don't remind me."

In the morning, standing in the wind, Admiral Janeway makes her last farewell.

Admiral Janeway stands looking at Chakotay's grave. "Any final words of advice for your old captain? Wait, don't tell me: I'm beng impulsive, I'm not considering all the consequences, it's too risky."

She kneels and smooths away the leaves on Chakotay's tombstone. "Thanks for the input, but I've got to do what I think is right."

"I know it wasn't easy living all these years without her, Chakotay, but when I'm through, things might be better for all of us. Trust me." click for audio clip from the episode

In their quarters on Voyager, Torres tries to rouse her husband from sleep: "Tom."
Paris comes to only gradually: "I'm asleep."
Torres: "It's time."
Paris: "For what?"
Torres: "I'll give you one guess."
She turns the lights on and suddenly Paris is wide awake. He sees Torres, who is heavily pregnant, is up and about. He taps his combadge, "Paris to- Paris to-" only to find that of course he is not wearing it. He grabs it from the side of the bed and panics into it: "Paris to Sickbay. It's time!"

Doctor: "Remain calm, Mr Paris. Can she stand?"
Wildly Paris looks round, to see Torres putting on a robe. "Affirmative," he replies
Doctor: "Then I suggest you report to Sickbay."

Paris reaches the door before he thinks to ask: "What about B'Elanna?"
Doctor: "Her too."
Paris: "Right. Of course."
As he rushes back into the room to fetch a wrap for her, she lumbers out as quickly as her pregnancy allows her. "Maybe we should take the transporter," he says but she leaves, not waiting for him. He runs after her.

In Sickbay the Doctor scans Torres.
Doctor: "Hmm."
Paris: "What do you mean by 'hmm'?"
Doctor: "You're going to have a very healthy baby, but not tonight."
Torres: "Tell me you're joking!"
Doctor: "You're experiencing false labour, Lieutenant."
Paris: "Again?"
Doctor: "As I explained the last time, it's a common occurrence, especially among Klingons."
Torres: "I want this thing out of me NOW!"
Doctor: "Misdirected rage - another common occurrence among Klingons."
Paris: "Can't you induce?"
Doctor: "I wouldn't recommend it."
Paris: "If this keeps happening, we'll never get any sleep."
Doctor: "You think it's bad now?"
