HOMESTEAD : Episode 169

	The Talaxians are going to follow Neelix's plan and make preparation. They transport adapted torpedos to load onto Oxilon's ship.
	In the control room, Neelix tells Dexa, who will attend the main console: "Wait for my com. call. As soon as the last emitter's in place, start routing power to the grid." Dexa: "Understood." You're scared, aren't you?" Dexa: "You?" Neelix: "Terrified." Dexa: "Be careful." Neelix: "I will." Oxilon's voice is heard on comms. "Oxilon to Neelix. The emitters are loaded. We're ready." Neelix to Dexa: "I'll see you soon." Dexa stops Neelix for a moment, and they kiss.
	An emitter is fired from Oxilon's ship and is planted into the asteroid surface. Baxial flies with Oxilon's ship.
	Neelix, via comms.: "Two more and we're done!" Oxilon, via comms.: "Acknowledged. We're moving into position for the next one."
	Neelix: "The miners' ship is on an intercept course. Evasive maneuvers."

Oxilon, via comms.: "They're targetting our shields." Neelix, via comms.: I'll deal with it. Just focus on your job." Aloud to himself: "Alright, Mr Vulcan, let's see if you're right about me." Neelix fires at the miners' ship.

The miners' weapons cause some damage inside the colony's control room. Dexa, via comms.: "Neelix you have to hurry!" Neelix, via comms.: "Just one more emitter and you can activate the shield."

Neelix, via comms.: "Neelix to Oxilon. My weapons are offline." Oxilon, via comms.: "We're not in position yet." Neelix, via comms.: "You have to get there. They're going to launch another charge." Dexa observes from the scanner that Neelix's ship appears to be on a collision course with the miners' ship. Dexa, via comms.: "Neelix, what're you doing?!" Neelix, via comms.: "Don't worry about me. Just get ready to bring the grid online."

At the last moment the Delta Flyer appears and targets the miners, saving Neelix.
Janeway, via comms.: Delta Flyer to Neelix. Are you alright?"
Neelix, via comms.: "Fine, Captain, but you shouldn't be here. You're violating the Prime Directive."
Janeway: "We're just helping a friend in distress."

Dexa activates the shield grid. The scanner displays its status: operational. An explosive charge fired by the miners explodes where it hits the newly-erected shield grid. Dexa, via comms.: "Dexa to Neelix. The shield's holding. You did it." Neelix, via comms.: "We did it."

Janeway: "Captain's log, stardate 54868.6. Commander Nocona seems to have given up his attempts to penetrate the Talaxians' shield. Voyager's ready to get under way, but we're giving Mr Neelix time to say a difficult goodbye to his new friends."

Oxilon: "We're grateful for everything you've done."
Neelix: "I'm just happy things worked out and I'm glad that I could spend some time here. I'd better go."
Brax: "Stay here!"
Dexa: "He can't, Brax. He has responsibilities on Voyager."
Neelix: "I promise I'll stay in touch as long as I can."
He leaves.

Naomi Wildman is in her quarters, doing study homework. The door signal sounds. door signal "Come in." standard doors Neelix: "Hi." Naomi: "Neelix." Neelix: "What are you working on?" Naomi: "A report on proto-humanoid cultures for Commander Chakotay's palaeontology class." Neelix: "Erm, need some help?" Naomi: "I'm almost finished."

Neelix: "Do you have time for a game of kadiskot?" Naomi: "I have to get up early." Neelix: "Oh. I guess you'd better get to sleep then. Do you want me to tuck you in? Tell you a bedtime story?" Naomi: "You haven't done that in years." Neelix: "Just think of all the stories you've missed." Naomi: "Thanks, Neelix, but I can put myself to bed. I'm not a little girl any more."
