In an out-of-the-way part of the cave system, Klingon Torres has set up camp, lit a fire, caught food and cooked it.

Klingon Torres: "Wake up, pahtk. Eat." Human Torres, seeing the proffered food: "What, what is it? " Klingon Torres: "Some rodent I killed." Human Torres is disgusted at the the thought of eating rodent. "No, thanks." Klingon Torres: "I'm sorry I can't replicate you a soufflé but you need nourishment. I can't carry you all the way out of here." Human Torres makes an effort to eat. "How are we supposed to escape this place? There are guards everywhere." Klingon Torres: "We fight our way out." Human Torres: "Maybe you haven't noticed, but I'm not exactly in fighting form." Klingon Torres: "That's why you need food. Eat! So you're what's left over when all the Klingon DNA's taken out." Human Torres: "Apparently." Klingon Torres: "If I hadn't come along, were you just going to waste away in that prison camp until they killed you for your body parts? Were you too frightened to act?" Human Torres: "I was looking for a way to escape." Klingon Torres: "Looking? I'll show you the way to escape. This and this!" Human Torres: "That's the way you respond to every situation, isn't it? If it doesn't work, hit it. If it's in your way, knock it down. No wonder I got kicked out of the Academy." Klingon Torres: "For which you should be eternally grateful." Human Torres: "Well, I'm not. Your temper's gotten me into trouble more times than I can- Listen to me. Listen to us. This is ridiculous. Do you realise that we're each fighting with ourself?" Klingon Torres: "I'm not the one who's fighting, pahtk. If I remember correctly, I'm the one who rescued you from the prison and carried you here. Don't you think you could at least acknowledge that? Can't you even admit that you won't be able to get out of here without me?" Human Torres: "I don't think I can get out of here with you. Brute force isn't going to do it." Klingon Torres: "Maybe not! Maybe we'll die in the attempt. But that's better than frightened tika cats doing nothing!" Human Torres: "There you go again - out of control, just leaping into action before you think things through." Klingon Torres: "Fine! You stay here. I'm getting out." Human Torres: "No, wait a minute. That's not what I meant. I'm sorry! Please. Just before you rescued me, I logged onto the Vidiians' computer system. I only had a few seconds but I think I found a way to access the forcefield that's cloaking this place. With a few minutes more I could've deactivated it." Klingon Torres: "Then Voyager could get a lock on us, beam us back, Paris too." Human Torres: "It might not be as exciting as fighting our way out, but it stands a much better chance of working, if I have your help." Klingon Torres: "So, you need me." Human Torres: "I can't get back to that computer without you, and you'll have to cover for me while I work." Klingon Torres: "We can't go to the prison barracks. There are too many guards there. In the lab where they were holding me there was a security console. That's the last place they would expect us to be."

In the prisoners' quarters the Talaxian tells Paris who is anxious about Human Torres: "They must've taken her to Organ Processing." Paris: "Tell me how to get there." A Vidiian guard comes up to him and puts a hand on him. Paris shakes it off. Belligerantly, "Keep your hands off me!" Chakotay: "Whatever you say, Paris. But I thought you might like to get out of this place. Paris stares at the "Vidiian". He recognises Chakotay's voice. "Chakotay?" Chakotay: "Where are Torres and Durst?" Paris: "I think they've been taken to what the Vidiians call Organ Processing." Vidiian officer: "You! Why are you talking to that prisoner?" Chakotay: "I was ordered to take him to Organ Processing." Vidiian officer: "Why wasn't I notified?" Chakotay: "I was told you had been." Vidiian officer: "I've never seen you before." Chakotay: "My face was just grafted." The Vidiian officer examines Chakotay's "face" but the Doctor's work is convincing. "Very well. Take him. But from now on I expect to be notified in advance of all transfers." Chakotay: "Yes, sir."

Klingon Torres and Human Torres arrive in Sulan's lab. The former indicates the control console to the latter: "There."
Human Torres starts work on the console. "I have to bypass the security code so I can access the forcefield grid. Then I'll have a better idea of what we're dealing with. That should do it. There - that's what we're up against, and I think we're here." Klingon Torres: "Can you shut it down?" Human Torres: "I'm working on it."
A klaxon sounds. Klingon Torres: "What now?"
Human Torres: "If they didn't know we were here before, they do now. Take it easy. I'll be done in a minute." Klingon Torres: "You're not frightened any more, are you?" Human Torres: "Maybe I just don't have time to think about it."

Vidiian guards appear and Klingon Torres fires at them, but she is hit.

Klingon Torres fires an energy blast at Vidiian guard, but she is hit. Human Torres: "Are you hurt?" Klingon Torres: "Keep working!"

Sulan enters, pointing a weapon. "B'Elanna, stop!"

Klingon Torres: "You're not going to hurt me. You need me."
Sulan: "You're right. But if you do not surrender, I will kill her." He aims his weapon at Human Torres.
At that moment Chakotay and Paris arrive. "Drop it!" Sulan's weapon is taken from him. He demands: "Who are you?"
Klingon Torres: "That's what I want to know!" For Chakotay looks like a Vidiian.
Chakotay: "It's Chakotay."

Human Torres: "I think I've just about accessed the forcefield. Got it! There."

On Voyager's bridge: "Captain, the forcefield has been disrupted."
Janeway: "Mr Kim, can you get a lock on Commander Chakotay?"
Chakotay, via comms: "Chakotay to Voyager. Do you read?" Janeway, via comms: "Loud and clear, Commander." Chakotay, via comms: "I've found them, Captain."
