THE HAUNTING OF DECK TWELVE
Episode 145
Part A
![]() | Neelix moves through the eerily empty Messhall and heads for the starboard exit.
Neelix: "Computer, deactivate mess hall lights." |
![]() | The computer does so and the lights go out. Suddenly the doors open. A figure looms in the doorway. He jumps, letting out a little yelp of alarm. |
![]()
| Then he realises it is Seven. "Oh, you scared me."
Seven: "That wasn't my intention." Neelix: "No, of course not. I guess I'm just a little jumpy, especially after what happened the last time." Seven: "That's why I'm here." Neelix: "Oh?" Seven: "We'll be shutting down main power soon. The children's regeneration cycle will be interrupted. They'll require supervision." Neelix: "Well, I'm happy to help. To tell you the truth, I'd be grateful for the distraction." Seven: "The procedure could take several hours." Neelix: "How much do they know about what's happening?" Seven: "Nothing. The children have overactive imaginations: I don't want to alarm them unnecessarily." Neelix: "What if they start asking questions? I can't just lie to them." Seven reassures him: "You have considerable child-care experience. I'm sure you'll manage." |
![]() | On Voyager's bridge, the crew are concentrating on a maneuver. |
![]() | Janeway: "That's close enough. Let our momentum carry us in."
Paris: "Cutting engines." |
![]() | He refers to the viewscreen image of the nebula they are entering. "There's a creepy image. Reminds me of something out of Edgar Allan Poe." |
![]() | Kim: "Looks like a vampire bat. You can make out the wings, even the ears. What do you see, Tuvok?" |
![]() | Tuvok: "Two Starfleet officers with juvenile imaginations."
Paris: "Come on, Tuvok. Haven't you ever looked up at the clouds and seen an animal?" Tuvok: "I will never understand the human need to find imagery in something as innocuous as a cloud." |
![]() | Janeway: "Harry, are we ready?"
Kim: "Yes, ma'am." Janeway: "Then let's do it." She makes a shipwide broadcast via comms. " All hands, initiate shutdown sequence." |
![]() | One by one the power systems including lights are shut down on the Bridge. |
![]() | Lights and power start going down in sequence all over the starship. In a corridor, when the lights go out the two crewmembers activate their wrist-beacons in order to be able to see. |
