Episode 123 : BARGE OF THE DEAD

Klingon spellings and pronunciation are from 'Encylopaedia' and 'The Klingon Dictionary' by Marc Okrand, except for "grethor" which is spelt phonetically and as per ST Monthly.

	Torres approaches the Shuttlebay. Torres manages to bring a damaged shuttlecraft into Voyager's Shuttlebay. (pop-up window) [#123 Barge of the Dead]
	Janeway: "When I give you an order I expect you to follow it. I told you to return to Voyager not chase the probe into the centre of an ion storm." Torres: "We have only one multispatial probe. I didn't want to lose it." Janeway: "We have only one B'Elanna Torres. I don't want to lose her either."
	Torres: "Did you just call me Lanna?" Janeway: "I suppose I did." Torres: "That's what my mother used to call me." Janeway: "Then I'm in good company."
	Chakotay brings Torres an artefact, a monkey wrench, which they found wedged into the shuttlecraft. Torres sees that it is Klingon.

The artefact bleeds.

	While running tests on the artefact at 3 a.m., Neelix arrives to tell "the daughter of the empire" that he is throwing a Klingon party at 1900 hours. He has already replicated five barrels of bloodwine. As guest of honour Torres will be expected to say a few words.
	Torres and Tuvok meet for a meditation session. Tuvok explains that the bloody artefact was her Klingon subconscious asserting itself. He defers the meditation session for a different exercise. Tuvok: "Feel the weight of the bat'leth in your hands. Describe the first thought that enters your mind." Torres: "It's a clumsy weapon, overstated, like everything else Klingon." Tuvok: "You can't see the elegance of its design, because of your hatred." Tuvok demonstrates the skill of a bat'leth master and draws her blood. Tuvok: "Listen to yourself whine like a Ferengi. ... You're not worthy of the blood in your veins. A true Klingon would try to kill me where I stand! ... This exercise is over. You are dismissed, Lieutenant, and take your dishonour with you." 	Neelix offers Paris gargh (a Klingon dish of living worms). Torres to Paris: "He says eat this or he'll force it down the gullet of your corpse." Shortly afterwards Torres tells Paris, about being Klingon: "I inherited the forehead and the bad attitude, that's it."

	Janeway toasts Torres.
	A Klingon appears and slaughters the crew. Pictured: the death of Janeway.
	The death-blow comes for Torres.
	Torres "awakes" on the Barge of the Dead - she is dead!
	Torres is branded with the mark of grethor but her faces fails to take the brand. It indicates that she is there before her time.

The deck of the Barge of the Dead. The helmsman is the first Klingon, who destroyed the gods who created him. Torres attacks him with a bat'leth but she is subdued. In the struggle, she sustains a wound to her right hand.

Torres sees her mother arrive on the Barge of the Dead.
