Voyager's bridge. Chakotay: "Shields are down to 52%."

Kim: "Captain, unauthorised transport in progress. It's the Equinox crew." Janeway: "Block it."

Kim: "They've bypassed Ops control. They're on their bridge." Chakotay: "40%." Janeway, via comms: "Janeway to Seven of Nine. Seven, respond."

But Seven cannot respond. She has been rendered unconscious and is a captive.

Gilmore looks at the instrument panel to assess how far Seven has gone in disabling the warp core modifications.

On the Equinox bridge. Burke: "Damn!"

Ransom: "What is it?" Burke: "B'Elanna's erected a forcefield. I can't get a lock on the generator."

Ransom: "Try overriding the command codes."

Voyager's Astrometrics Lab. Torres: "Someone's disrupting the forcefield. It's Max. He's using one of his triquadric algorithms. I taught him how to do that ten years ago."

Voyager's bridge. Chakotay: "Shields are failing. We've got less than one minute."

Janeway: "Open a channel." To Ransom: "If you don't stop what you're doing we'll both be destroyed."

Ransom: "What's my alternative - 30 years in your brig?" Janeway: "I'll open fire if we have to." Ransom: "We've been through worse." He closes contact. viewscreen off

Janeway: "Target their power systems. Fire!" Weapons fire pounds the Equinox. Ransom half-rises from his seat: "Max!"

Burke: "Stand by! Ok, BLT, let's see if you remember this."

He activates the controls.

Voyager's Astrometrics Lab. Torres, via comms: "Bridge, they've got the field generator." The display for the device now reads "NO LONGER AVAILABLE".

Janeway: "What do you mean, they've got it?" Torres: "I don't know, but they beamed it off Voyager."

Equinox bridge. Ransom: "Get us out of here."

Lessing: "I can't. Warp drive is down." Ransom, via comms: "Bridge to Marla. Report." Gilmore, via comms: "One of their crew tried to dismantle the antimatter injectors. Repairs are under way." Ransom: "What about the field generator?" Burke: "Integrating it now."

Voyager's bridge. Chakotay: "Shields are down." Suddenly they can hear the sound of spatial fissures starting to open. Janeway: "Arm yourselves." She herself draws her phaser and stands, looking round and up.

Equinox's bridge. Ransom: "It's now or never." Burke: "The generator's in place. I'm bringing the grid online."

On Voyager's bridge, Kim reports: "Fissures are opening, all decks!"

A fissure opens on the Bridge near the ceiling. Janeway turns and fires at it, sealing it.

On the Equinox, the crew ready weapons as they hear a fissure opening on the Bridge.

On the Equinox, as a spatial fissure opens and an alien flies through, Ransom orders: "Hold your fire."

The nucleogenic lifeform flies around but is trapped within a forcefield. The multiphasic field generator is operating perfectly.

The lifeform encounters a forcefield.

A crewmember watches, weapon ready, as the frantic lifeform tries to escape.

Time runs out for the lifeform and it dies. Ransom orders: "Take it to the lab." Its body will provide fuel, giving them the kick-start they need to resume their journey home.

Lessing: "Sir, the engines are up and running." Ransom: "Set a course for the Alpha Quadrant." Lessing: "Course laid in."

Ransom: "Maximum warp. Engage."

The Equinox leaves Voyager which is now defenceless against the attacking aliens.

Voyager's bridge crew under continual attack by the creatures.

As Janeway fires at one fissure, sealing it, another fissure opens behind her.

Chakotay shouts: "Captain!"

Janeway turns as a creature comes out of the fissure.

Viewpoint of the attacking lifeform as it heads straight for Janeway, knocking the phaser out of her hand! part of one scene and last scene, includes alien fissures, phaser fire and end music

 

This is the end of Part One as broadcast on television as the last episode of Season 5.
