The Warhead/(Doctor) taps the Doctor's combadge. combadge "Sickbay to bridge. Report!" Janeway, via comms: "We've run into a subspace mine. We had to drop out of warp." Warhead/(Doctor), via comms: "There shouldn't be mines along this course." Chakotay, via comms: "We're detecting thousands of them scattered throughout the region." Janeway, via comms: "We're plotting a new course to avoid them." Warhead/(Doctor), via comms: "Transmit it to me. This trajectory will delay us for two days!" Kim: "That'll give you time to confirm that the war's over." Warhead/(Doctor): "No! Proceed as planned! I'm programming a shield enhancement that will protect Voyager." Janeway, via comms: "I'm still going to have to reduce speed." Warhead/(Doctor), via comms: "Agreed, but only until we've cleared the minefield." Comm. contact ends. Janeway: "Maintain course, Mr Paris, one quarter impulse." To Chakotay: "Think he bought it?" Chakotay: "He seemed to." Janeway to Paris: "Let's give him another good shake just to be sure." Paris: "Yes, ma'am." Voyager shakes again. Kim: "That was another mine." Warhead/(Doctor): "The shields will hold." Voyager shakes again.

Tuvok is in the Jefferies tube above Sickbay. He gets into position and works on circuits behind a maintenance access panel.

Tuvok taps his combadge. combadge "Tuvok to bridge. I have accessed the holomatrix." Janeway, via comms: "Acknowledged."

Janeway, via comms: "Janeway to Neelix. Casualty report."

In the Messhall, Neelix is using a dermal regenerator on Seven's cheek. He reports, via comms: "I'm putting the finishing touches on Seven's plasma burn, and it looks pretty authentic, if I do say so myself." Janeway, via comms: "Good work. Stand by."

Janeway: "Time to hit another mine, Tom a big one. Commander, blow out the plasma relays on deck 6." Voyager shakes violently.

Janeway, via comms: "Janeway to Sickbay. We have heavy casualties." Warhead/(Doctor), via comms: "Maintain heading and speed!"

Janeway, via comms: "That's going to be difficult. Our Astrometrics officer has been injured. She's the one who's been guiding us through the minefield." Warhead/(Doctor), via comms: "Replace her!" Janeway, via comms: "Seven of Nine's abilities are unique. We're not going to get past these mines without her." Warhead/(Doctor), via comms: "Then treat her injuries and send her back to her post!"

Janeway, via comms: "She has third-degree plasma burns. She needs to go to Sickbay to be treated. If you want to reach your target you're going to have to wait." Warhead/(Doctor), via comms: "Alright, Captain, but I'm warning you: no deceptions." Contact ends. Janeway, via comms: "Janeway to Neelix. Go."

The Warhead/(Doctor) presses the door controls and opens the Sickbay doors. Neelix hurries in, supporting Seven. He helps her onto the biobed next to the Warhead's casing. The Warhead/(Doctor) orders: "Treat her as quickly as possible."

Bridge Chakotay: "They're in."

Janeway, via comms: "Now, Tuvok."

Tuvok manipulates the circuits

The Warhead/(Doctor)'s program destabilises for a while as it fritzes. It taps the Doctor's combadge. combadge "Bridge, my holo-matrix is destabilising. Why?"

Janeway, via comms: "We took damage to our secondary systems." Warhead/(Doctor), via comms: "Repair them. NOW! Or I'll activate the detonation sequence." Janeway, via comms: "Stand by."

As the Doctor's program fritzes, Seven gets up from the biobed and goes over to the Warhead. Torres: "What's going on?" Neelix: "She's trying to defuse the weapon."

Seven activates Borg injection tubules, but as she tries to access the Warhead, it sends feedback and she suffers a severe electric shock. She collapses, unconscious and injured.

Neelix shouts: "Seven!" He rushes over to her. To Torres: "She's going into neural shock. Help me."

The Warhead is undamaged.

The Warhead/(Doctor) taps the Doctor's combadge. combadge "Sickbay to bridge. Your attempt to disable me did not succeed. I am designed to repel any assault on my bio-neural circuitry."

Janeway, via comms: "We've tried to reason with you. You left me no choice." Warhead/(Doctor), via comms: "And you leave me no choice. You and your crew will abandon Voyager immediately." Janeway, via comms: "No deal." Warhead/(Doctor), via comms, angry: "This is not a negotiation! Comply or I will detonate!" Janeway, via comms: "Go ahead. Do it." Warhead/(Doctor), via comms: "Everyone on board will be killed!"

Janeway, via comms: "But no one else will." The Warhead/(Doctor) realises that it no longer has the upper hand.

Paris: "Captain, 32 vessels just dropped out of warp, off our port bow." Janeway: "On screen."

The viewscreen shows the aft view of the armada of warheads.

Voyager is surrounded by warheads. On the Bridge, Tuvok reports: "One of them is transmitting a message, to the Doctor." Janeway, via comms: "Bridge to Sickbay. We've got company - 32 self-guided weapons."
