BRIDE OF CHAOTICA!
Episode 106
Part G

 

Aboard Proton's rocket ship. Satan's Robot: "Invader! Invaders!" Doctor, looking through the periscope: "Er, incoming." The ship lurches as the Death Ray strikes again.

In the hall of the Fortress of Doom, Janeway is bound to the pillar.

She can only watch helplessly as Chaotica works to destroy Proton, and with him the aliens and Voyager.

Suddenly she remembers the vial. Lonzak reports: "Proton's ship is damaged, but still airborne." Janeway uncorks the pheromones.

They waft toward Chaotica but then he leaves the Death Ray and moves toward the main control console. Replying to Lonzak: "Not for long. Fire at will!" He orders: "Lonzak, man the Lightning Shield." Lonzak does so, and the pheromones waft over him instead. Lonzak smells them. They have an intoxicating effect. He turns toward her: "Arachnia?"

Chaotica: "Lonzak. Quickly, Lonzak. No time for dawdling."

But Lonzak is oblivious to everything and everyone except Janeway. He goes up to her, unable to resist. Lonzak tells her: "Your beauty is maddening. Entangle me in your web." Janeway, seductively: "Let me out of here and I'll do all that, and more." Lonzak: "At once, my Queen." He undoes her chains.

Chaotica looks round, wondering why Lonzak has not obeyed his order. He is surprised to see him next to Arachnia: "Back to your station!"

Suddenly Janeway incapacitates and fells Lonzak. Chaotica roars at him: "Idiot!"

Janeway seizes Lonzak's ray gun and fires it at the guards.

Taken by surprise, the guards fall, leaving Chaotica defenceless.

Janeway, advancing on him, pointing the gun at him: "Deactivate the Shield, NOW." Chaotica backs toward the Death Ray: "Such passion, such strength! Together we could conquer the universe! End this madness, and you may yet live to be my bride." Janeway: "The Shield." Chaotica turns a knob on the Death Ray's control panel. There is the sound of the Lightning Shield deactivating.

Janeway tells him: "I don't know how to tell you this," she fires at him, "but the wedding's off."

As Chaotica staggers backwards and slumps against the Death Ray, she goes to the broadcast microphone.

"Arachnia to Proton. Arachnia to Proton. Do you read me?"

Proton's rocket ship. Janeway, via comms: "Arachnia to Proton." Paris, via comms: "I'm reading you." Janeway, via comms: "The Lightning Shield is down." Paris, via comms: "Acknowledged." Contact ends.

"Harry, target the Death Ray. Doc, fire the Destructo Beam on my mark." The Doctor gets into position. "Ready? Now!" The Doctor fires.

3 screenshots: Chaotica, who has just started to get up, holding onto the Death Ray for support, is electrocuted and seems to die horribly.

Janeway observes, curious.

On Voyager's bridge, Tuvok reports: "The distortions are closing."

Torres: "We're re-aligning with normal space." Chakotay: "Helm, full impulse."

Voyager starts to move away and picks up speed.

Voyagers goes to full impulse speed.

Chakotay, via comms: "Bridge to Janeway." Janeway, who is looking interestedly at the fallen Chaotica, via comms: "Go ahead."

Chakotay, via comms: "The aliens have retreated and they've closed the distortions. We've cleared the subspace layer." Janeway, via comms: "Secure all systems, and organise damage repair teams." Chakotay, via comms: "Understood. We're preparing to shut down the Holodeck." Janeway: "Chakotay, give me a minute." Contact ends.

She resumes looking at Chaotica. The rescue party (Paris, Kim and the Doctor) enter. Paris: "I was about to say 'Captain Proton to the rescue', but I see you have everything under control."

Janeway poses queenlike: "I'm the Queen, remember?"

Suddenly Chaotica revives enough to utter: "Arachnia, death as you know it has no hold on me. My defeat is but a temporary setback. I shall return to seek my revenge." Janeway to Paris and the others: "He doesn't give up, does he?" Paris: "They never do." Chaotica to Janeway: "Our love was not meant to be, my Queen, but be warned, you have not seen the last of Chaotica."

He dies.

Paris: "The end of a twisted madman." Janeway: "And you're going to miss him." Paris: "A little."

Suddenly they hear the closing music of 'The Adventures of Captain Proton'. They go over to the screen.

It displays THE END, but then....

....changes to a question mark and Chaotica's evil laughter is heard....

.....as the chapter finally draws to its conclusion.
