 | On the Holodeck, in Proton's rocket ship.
Paris: "Space drive." Kim: "Check." Satan's Robot, mindlessly repeating Kim: "Check." Paris: "Destructo Beam." Kim: "Check." Satan's Robot, again repeating Kim and getting in the way: "Check." Paris: "If I could access holodeck controls, the first thing I'd do is delete this guy." Satan's Robot: "Delete this guy." |
 | Paris: "As a matter of fact, as soon as this is all over, I think I'm going to delete the whole program!"
Kim: "What about your historical study?" |
 | Paris: "Class dismissed. No more robots, no more mad scientists, no more Death Rays. I am retiring my rocket pack, Harry. Someone else can save the universe from now on."
Kim: "The final chapter, huh?" Paris: "The End." |
 | The Doctor enters. "Isn't anyone going to sing Hail to the Chief?" ('Hail to the Chief' is the Doctor's reference to the President of the old Earth republic called the United States of America which existed at the time of the black and white science-fiction films imitated by the holoprogram.) |
 | Kim: "Mr President. How'd it go?"
The Doctor jokes, since presidents can be impeached: "My performance was unimpeachable." Kim: "He agreed?" Doctor: "Let's just say I'm considering running for office when we get back to Earth." |
 | Paris chuckles. "Alright, then. Let's get this thing in the air." |
 | Paris: "And hope Captain Janeway is giving a command performance." |
 | Elsewhere on the Holodeck, in the hall of the Fortress of Doom, Lonzak approaches Janeway and shows her a large ring on a cushion.
Lonzak: "Queen Arachnia." Janeway: "Don't tell me." She picks it up and looks at the garish object: "My wedding ring." Lonzak: "Dr Chaotica's wedding ring. YOU will present it to HIM at the end of the ceremony." Janeway drops it back carelessly onto the cushion. |
| She goes and addresses Chaotica: "Your Majesty, perhaps we should lower the Lightning Shield in anticipation of my guests."
Chaotica: "Why this preoccupation with the Shield?" Janeway thinks quickly: "Oh, forgive me. It's just that, as a fellow ruler of the cosmos, I often have to do things myself." Chaotica: "Ah. Because of the incompetence of your inferiors, no doubt!" The starship captain replies enigmatically: "Something like that." Chaotica: "Oh, Arachnia, my love, my life! How well you understand our plight. If it weren't beneath my dignity, I, I would weep. How I've longed for someone who would understand." Janeway: "We have a saying on Arachnia." She brushes his cheek with her hand. "It's lonely at the top." Chaotica: "No longer, my dear." |
 | Lonzak: "Majesty! Proton is preparing to attack!"
Chaotica hurries over to the controls: "Ah. Target his rocket ship!" He gestures toward the Death Ray. |
 | Janeway scuttles over to the guard at the Death Ray and fells him with a hand-chop. |
 | She picks up his ray gun and aims it at Chaotica.
Chaotica, aghast: "You have betrayed me! You are in league with Proton! Impetuous harlot!" Janeway: "Tell me how to deactivate the Lightning Shield, or I'll show you just how impetuous I can be." |
 | Chaotica to Lonzak: "What are you waiting for, you great lummox? Kill her!" |
 | Lonzak fires his ray gun at her. It is a direct hit but she is unharmed, as the Holodeck safety protocols are on.
Janeway: "Ha! You're no match for Arachnia! Now, tell me how to shut down the Shield."  |
 | Chaotica to Lonzak: "The confinement rings."
Lonzak presses the activation button on his belt. |
 | Suddenly a forcefield springs up around Janeway, trapping her. The forcefield is centred on Chaotica's coat of arms depicted in the centre of the hall and she, unaware of its significance, had wandered onto it. |
 | Chaotica approaches her. |
 | He gloats: "Oh, don't worry, I wouldn't kill my bride." |
 | Chaotica continues: "Not until AFTER our wedding night!" He laughs evilly. |
 | He signals Lonzak: "Reactivate the Death Ray! Destroy Proton!"
Lonzak fires the weapon. |
 | Proton's rocket ship trembles violently as the Death Ray hits it.
Paris: "We've been hit!" Kim: "Well, I guess the Captain ran into some trouble." Paris: "We're not going down without a fight. Doc, activate the Destructo Beam." |
 | Doctor: "The what?"
Paris: "The big button in the middle of that panel." Satan's Robot: "Destructo Beam!" Seeing the Doctor move toward a button, Kim and Paris yell together: "The other panel!"
The Doctor hastily withdraws his finger from the button he was about to press and moves to the other panel. He presses the button there: "Destructo Beam activated." |
 | Kim: "We just dropped out of range. We're losing altitude." |
 | Voyager's bridge.
Chakotay: "Report." Torres: "The alien's weapons fire is increasing. It's causing the distortions to grow larger. We're being pulled deeper into subspace!" |
 | Chakotay realises there is nothing he can do to get Voyager out of this predicament! It all depends on Janeway and Paris! |
