BRIDE OF CHAOTICA!

Part A
In the interior of his rocket ship, Captain Proton (played by Tom Paris) and his trusty sidekick Buster Kincaid (played by Harry Kim) watch the imagizer. Flashback scenes from the (holographic program called) 'The Adventures Of Captain Proton' appear on the imagizer screen, accompanied by the dramatic and excited voice-over narration typical of Earth's early 20th century sci-fi films.

Narrator: "The Adventures of Captain Proton! Chapter 18: Bride of Chaotica!" |
 | Narrator: "The evil Dr Chaotica kidnaps Constance Goodheart and plans to sacrifice her to Arachnia, Queen of the Spider People!" On the imagizer, Kim and Paris watch themselves. Now they see Constance Goodheart bound, a helpless prisoner of Chaotica who..... |
 | ..... looks down at her then looks up and laughs evilly. |
 | Narrator: "Captain Proton travels millions of miles to Planet X where he will invade the Fortress of Doom! Chaotica fires his fiendish Death Ray!" |
 | Narrator: "Certain death for Proton as his rocket ship bursts into flames!" |
 | Kim: "We didn't burst into flames in the last chapter. Why are these recaps always so inaccurate?"
Paris: "Well, they brought people back to the theatres." Kim: "Cliff-hangers." |
 | They start preparing themselves at the controls.
Paris: "The lost art of the hyperbole. You ready?" Kim: "Aye, Captain." |
 | Paris: "Let's get this show on the road. Computer, begin Chapter 18."
The scenario starts. Kim: "We're receiving a transmission. It's Chaotica." |
 | Paris: "Imagizing."
On the imagizer, they see the beautiful fair-haired Constance Goodheart screaming. |
 | Chaotica, on imagizer: "Captain Proton! Surrender!" |
 | Paris: "Not a chance. Release Miss Goodheart and we'll be on our way."
Chaotica, on imagizer: "I'm afraid your secretary has already been promised to Queen Arachnia as a supreme sacrifice!" She screams again. Kim, enjoying the role-playing: "You'll never get away with this!" Chaotica, on imagizer: "Oh, ho ho ho! But I shall! You escaped from my Death Ray once, but you won't survive THIS!" |
 | Kim: "He's charging the weapon." |
 | Paris: "Brace for impact!" |
 | Chaotica fires, causing severe damage. The rocket ship plunges toward the planet! Kim looks through the periscope. |
 | Kim: "Direct hit. We've lost both engines!"
The planet looms nearer! |
 | Kim keeps watch.
Paris: "Steering jets are on the fritz!" |
 | Kim: "We're going down!" |
 | Paris: "The landing gear is jammed." He bangs the console to try and repair it. "Hang on!" |
 | The rocket ship shakes violently but Paris manages to land successfully. |
 | Kim: "Opening hatch."
The door hatch opens, landing with a thud causing a cloud of dust to rise. Paris: "Welcome to Planet X." Kim: "What's the plan?" Paris, as they ready to exit: "Ah, this is the part where we defeat Chaotica's soldiers, steal their uniforms, and make our way through the underground caverns." Kim: "Hey! I thought you said there were slave girls in this chapter." Paris: "After we infiltrate the Fortress of Doom, we'll free Chaotica's harem. Let's go." Kim: "I'm right behind you." |
 | They traverse part of the planet surface.
Kim: "Planet X looks kind of familiar. What was the last place we went to?" Paris: "The Mines of Mercury." Kim sighs. "They're identical." Paris: "Sets were expensive. At least there's no erupting volcano this time." |
 | Paris: "Ah, behold - the Fortress of Doom."
Kim: "And how are we supposed to get up there?" Paris: "I told you. The un-" Kim chimes in as he understands: "underground caverns." Kim: "Right." The ground trembles. Kim: "I thought you said there was no volcano." Paris, rather worried: "I did." |
 | Kim: "Er, Tom."
They see a rippling phenomenon, in colour. |
 | Paris sighs. "Definitely not Chaotica."
Kim: "Computer, end program." Computer: "Unable to comply. Holodeck controls are offline." Paris: "Paris to bridge." There is no reply. "Bridge, respond." Still no reply. Kim: "We need to find the manual overrides." Paris: "There's an access port in the rocket ship. Come on." |
| Janeway enters Voyager's bridge from the turbolift.  standard doors The ship is at red alert and the red alert klaxons are sounding. "Report."
Chakotay: "We've dropped out of warp. We're at a dead stop." Janeway: "Cause?" Tuvok: "Unknown. Engines are operational." Chakotay: "I'm reading gravimetric forces around the ship. They're disrupting our power flow." Tuvok: "Control systems are going offline. I no longer have access to communications, deflector, weapons." Janeway: "Scan for vessels, tractor beams, anything that might explain what's holding us here." |
 | Paris and Kim suddenly have an unwelcome meeting. It is Lonzak, chief minion of the evil Chaotica, and two guards.
Lonzak: "Halt in the name of Chaotica! Proton!" Kim to Paris: "Buddy of yours?" |
 | Lonzak to Paris: "Surprised? You thought I'd perished in the Den of Crocodiles!"
Paris: "We don't have time for this." Lonzak: "I survived clinging to the thought that I would one day-" |
 | Paris draws his ray gun and fires. |
 | Lonzak is hit and staggers backward. |
 | As the guards go for their guns, Kim draws his. He and Paris both open fire. |
 | He and Paris shoot his guards |
 | As Kim and Paris pass the bodies writhing from the effect of the stun guns, one guard starts to get up, and Kim shoots him again, rather enjoying this shoot-'em-up part of the game. |
