DRONE
Season 5 : Episode 96
DOCTOR'S LOG:
Paris, Torres, Seven and the Doctor go on an astrological survey in a class-2 shuttlecraft to explore a protonebula. The Doctor brings a holoimaging device to take "snapshots" of the protonebula. This is the first time that he is seen partaking in this hobby, although in the later episode
[#105 Latent Image] it will be noted that he has been actively pursuing it for a while.

![]() | His program, within the mobile emitter, is taken by Torres and Ensign Mulcahey to the Science Lab for investigation to begin on it the next morning. Overnight a unique super-Borg is "born", composed of elements of the 29th century mobile emitter, Seven's Borg cybernetics and Mulchaey's human DNA. Borg nanoprobes are encoded to utilise any technology they encounter. |
![]() | The superdrone takes the designation "One". One's maturation rate is 25 times that of a conventional Borg. The Borg fourth phase of gestation is equal, in human terms, to a child of six. One's body is composed of polydeutonic alloy, like the Doctor's mobile emitter. The mobile emitter is embedded in One's cerebral cortex and adapted to function as part of his nervous system controlling all autonomic functions. His body contains connective armour, multidimensional adaptability, and internal transporter nodes. After One's suicide, the Doctor's mobile emitter is returned to him. |
DOCTOR'S QUOTE:
To One: "Our primary mission is to explore new forms of life. You may've been unexpected but, given time, I'm sure you'll make a fine addition to the crew."
